I am a new vapor as of yesterday and I am liking it a lot. I was given a Johnson Creek Vea from a family member since he had upgraded and I am loving it but I also want to make the jump into it.

The first thing I want to do is get a coil tank, getting away from the "canteen". What type of threading does the Vea battery have? On their website, it says under the battery "Universal 7mm x 0.5mm thread", is that the 510 threading?

What type of tanks can I get that will work with the battery? I was looking at something like a protank, will that work?

Thank you all in advance to helping this newb.

Hi

The Vea is close, but not quite 510. Some devices may work on it, some may not. This issue has come up before, but I couldn't remember if it was the Vea or another device.

I have found conformation. (Removed since I cant post links yet)

Thank you for your quick reply. I am glad I did not buy anything yet then. Do you have any suggestions on a website where I can get a nice starter kit that makes it easy to upgrade later and not break my wallet?

I think this is a great starter kit that lets you mix and match batteries and clearomizers.

If you are ok with a box mod, the MVP v2 is a great choice and can be found here. Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape[/url]

If you go with the MVP, you might want to get a different topper, though. Not many are fans of the iClear 30 that comes with it.

Thank you for the quick reply. I wish I could get something like that but it is way out of my current budget and I am not looking to upgrade to a box since I am on the go all the time and a pen style is something more of my liking. I am seeing some good priced eGo Mini Protank for under $20 on FastTech but I am not sure if these are something I should get as a lot of it looks generic.

This is generic, but a well known vendor in the US.

eGo CE4 Kit

I'm sorry to send you to different vendors, but Venerable's tank stock is very limited.

Shane, my friend the Cat is right. Vea is an oddity, and pretty out of date, technologically speaking. You can read more about it here:

Johnson Creek's Vea e-Cigarette: Review

Ii'm not sure what your budget is, but I strongly recommend buying the best battery/topper combo you can afford. It will pay for itself in time. If you can't afford an MVP2 or Innokin VV V3 (the best moderately priced batteries on the market), or Vision Spinner, eGo-C Twist or eVod VV battery, just spend more time with your Vea and save some money.

If you absolutely have to have something now, consider this Kanger eVod starter kit:

https://www.misthub.com/product/kanger-evod-starter-kit/

Add a 5-pack (or two) of extra coils, I recommend 2.1Ω or 2.5Ω, and learn how to clean them--tons of videos on YouTube. With care, this set will last you a while.

https://www.misthub.com/product/kanger-protank-unitank-evod-replacement-coil-heads/

It's a solid kit, two good (not variable voltage) batteries and two very good toppers. This will help you enter the wonderful world of the 510/eGo connection. In the future, you can add more batteries, including vv batteries, and other clearomizers, like Kanger T3S, Aerotanks, etc.

Do not waste your money on inferior knockoffs and old technology.

Good luck!

Thank you everyone for your good information. I finally found something I hope I will like and I will find out on Friday once it gets here. I got a eGo-C Twist battery at 900mAh with a Kangertech Mini Protank 3 at 1.5 ohm (with 2 extra coils). I am excited for this!

Now to just window shop for juices, as I already have 6 different flavors from my brother-in-law. Found out I really like Johnson Creek's Espresso and Cool Melon from Vapor Chief. Just those ones are on the higher priced end. Checking out Mount Baker Vapor and may order from them unless there is something better priced for good flavor.

Also with my new setup, will I be able to go high VG?

You can get the Kangertech Evod VV Batteries w/ a Mini Protank 2 ver2 in your budget, I have a setup like this and love it.

I was looking to get the Kangertech Evod VV but I had found a nice deal when I bought a eGo-C with the Kangertech Mini Protank 3 together on ebay, I got a 10% discount. The total was under $20.
