So yesterday I went to my local headshop and purchased a Voodoo V series Revolv 1300 (Along with 2 bottles of e-liquid from voodoo). I charged the battery completely then filled the cartomizer 3/4 of the way. Primed the pen, then took my first drag. Nothing. So I took it apart and cleaned the connection, where there was a tiny bit of liquid. Put it back together, took another drag...still nothing. Before I started to get frusterated, I looked at the manufacturers website, and followed the directions to a T. And STILL nothing. Its been about 2 days now, and i havent been able to use my brand new pen because I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Can someone please enlighten me on something I may be doing wrong or something that I need for the pen? Its beginning to make me mad and I want to try and fix it before I go back to the headshop and demand my money back. Junk isnt worth $100.

Hey Undercover - welcome aboard!

Please forgive me, but I need to ask.... Is the pen turned on? Some take 3-5 clicks to enable the power (you might see a light flash around the fire button?) My eGos (similar to yours, I believe) would show the button light while charging, but I still needed to make sure they were on before I used them.

Another thing I sometimes do is to hold it somewhat close to my ear and listen for the "crackling/sizzling". That way I know that I am getting a good connection and proper firing.

If you have a multi-meter, can you check the voltage? If necessary, you might need to take it back to the shop for them to evaluate....

Good Luck

What are the instructions for turning the battery on and off? 5 clicks, 3 clicks? Anything?
If the battery is on and you press the button, can you hold the mouthpiece (drip tip) to your ear and hear any noise at all? Hissing is the best way to describe it.
It's possible the clearomizer (it's a clear tank, yes, not a metal cartridge one?) isn't making contact.
Is the atomizer head in the tank screwed in securely?

1) I was going to ask the same thing - most ecigs have an "off" setting...
2) Also, there is a "coil" or "head" that goes inside the "tank" - SOMETIMES they're bad or dead - but also, they need to contact the battery when you connect.
3) If it HAS been firing, but no liquid getting to the coil, then the coil/head will be toast, and you'll need a new one when you DO get it vaping

4) Finally...this equipment is similar to an Ego with variable voltage, and a tank that's a bit like a "mini protank".
Which means $100 is a bit much. You may want, if you DO return it, to look at some online "starter kits"
Here's a few
Here's a whole bunch
The second one has a "build your own" option - pick a battery, pick a tank...

The instructions online said to let the liquid sit for a minute or two, then prime the coils by dry pulling the pen. After that it just said to hold the button and drag. I've tried pressing the power button 5 times, 3 times, 10 times, every time it's the same thing: unresponsive. I replaced the coil with an extra one that came in the box. I can't hear any sizzling, and I'm almost 100% positive that the two nodes are connected.

And yes, it's a cartomizer. The atomizer head is screwed in fine, I'm just lost on why it Is so unresponsive

It's not a cartomizer if you are screwing an atomizer head into it...but that's not important.

Going back to the clicks question... (please forgive me...)

1. Press the power button, does it light up?

If so, you have an ON battery.... (working of sorts)...

2. If not, it's OFF at the moment. If you click it 3 times, does it show any response? (like a little flashing show or something?)
Then try 5 times. There must be a combination that will wake it up? :)

If you can't turn it on, take it back and give them a hard time.

That pen sounds like a massive Rip off man , once again try all the on and off techniques , sing an ancient war chant , and use profuse amounts a profanity at the thing , it's been awhile since I've used an eGo battery, but if nothing helps get your money back and check out originvape.com I bent a locking ring on my mech and they replaced it free of charge knowing it was my fault , they'll take care of ya

This sounds horrible, but I kinda hope it is dead so you can get your money back. You could get a really good set up for 100.00 or much less even.

The 3 clicks or 5 clicks to turn it on that folks have mentioned, make sure you're doing very rapid clicks, no pause in between. You probably are, but sometimes it's those little things that trip us up. Hope you can get it straightened out.

lol sorry about my very uneducated responses. But the only time any kind of light comes from the button is when it's screwed Into the charger. Other than that, nothing lights up. I've tried all the different methods you guys have suggested and nothing is working. I really appreciate you trying to help me with my problem, but it looks like I'm going to have to raise hell at the B&M store

If they have a zero return policy, I wouldn't get anything from them anyhow. Most online suppliers have 14-30 on mods/batteries if they are duds. Since you just got this yesterday, hopefully you won't have an issue from them if they can't help you get it working. But if you get your money back I would seriously look at getting an eleaf Istick, or IPV mini and I would suggest an aspire bdc tank. Nice and simple to use and fill, no issues and no learning curve with them really.

You have left it on the charger for at least an hour (and preferably a lot more) before trying it I assume? Could just be a flat battery. Apologies if you have, just trying to think of any other possibilities. Otherwise the other responses of clicking quickly 3 to 5 times would generally result in some sort of indication that it was powering up or powering down.

Thanks for the help. I'm a college student and have been sitting in classes all day. I actually resolved my issue when I asked my professor on what to do XD

Take it back and get them to show you how to use it. If it's faulty, return it, walk out and post in here for suggestions on a good starter setup.

The fact they sold you something without giving you a lesson in how to use it and without insuring that it was working and you were satisfied with it gives me great concern. Not to mention the fact it came from a "head shop" I steer clear of shops that aren't dedicated vape shops.

For around $100 you could get a Aspire Atlantis and a regulated mod (battery) and your vaping experience would be outstanding.
