Hey guys, my name is Bryant and i just recently got into vaping. Got my dad into vaping and off cigarettes and I kinda got hooked on vaping as well, mainly for the fact that it curbs my appetite so im not always snacking on something and usually vape 0mg nic and my dad is around 3mg-6mg of nic for his juices. My dad is using the Kanger subox mini starter kit and im using the nicer Hana mod v4 with a kanger subtank plus(maybe soon downsize to a subtank mini since it looks nicer with the hana). I bought a whole bunch of juices to see whats out there.

Since im new to the forums i cant post anywhere else but here, but i have a question that i cant seem to answer myself. So with the hana mod im using it with a temp control enabled with pre-built ni200 coils from kanger. I have the new pre-built kanger ni200 vertical coils that i bought recently to do temp control and what ive noticed after putting in a fresh coil into my subtank my hana mod read the ohm around .024-.028ohms at room temperature, but the coil is suppose to be .15ohms? I also broke out 2 more new coils and they read exactly the same. Another issue ive noticed is that after going to nickel coils with temp control i loose almost all the flavor i had when i vaped with the pre-built kanger OCC vertical coils but when i switch back to kanthal coils i get all the flavor back instantly. Currently my temp control settings are at 500F at 22.0watts and the nickel coil reads .028. Any help to shed some light would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @aznlunatic . Welcome to the forum. A side effect of me starting to vape in the switch from cigs was I started to lose weight because I wasn't snacking as much as I did before. In the first 3 months I probably dropped 15 pounds with no change in my routine. I have a few Subtank Mini's and love them,

but I haven't moved into TC yet, my first TC mod is in the mail soon. So I can't answer anything with TC.

But.. I do have a few links for you. The Deals link should have quite a few "sales" going on since it's a holiday.

Congrats on getting dad to vape, be proud. Good luck in your vape journey.

Thanks! I'll definitely look into some of those vendors. So far I love it, just trying to figure out why my kanger ni200 coils has no flavor compared to the regular occ kanthal coils. I've messed with temperature anywhere from 400-500f and wattages anywhere between 15-28watts and still no flavor compared to the prebuilt kanthal coils. I know when I go back to kanthal the green apple flavor I have taste so good it makes my mouth water haha

From what i have found TC is better for someone just starting to be done with on temp control the watt and joules makes it hard to get the mix right also if your mod has it lock in the resistance of the coil and another thing i have seen is the sweet point is 350-420F but it depends on your mod and its output this is all based of reviews of different mods with TC and not what i have done myself hope it helps a bit.

I just recently turned it down to 450F at 22 watts. Still no flavor, or if anything very little. When I get home from work tonight I'm just gonna say screw it and pop in a new Ni200 vertical coil from the pack of 5 I bought, I originally didn't want to do this as the coil I have in right now is only a couple days old and seeing how these coils arnt exactly dirt cheap I didn't want it throw out a almost brand new coil. Maybe the new coil will be much better and the current one I have is a dud. A couple reviews say the new vertical coils read at around .25ohm even though the coil itself says .15ohm so I got that figured out now.

Just a quick update and to get my post count up. I switched over to the mini RBA head and since it already came with a pre installed coil all i did was added some organic cotten, juiced it up and the vape i will say has more flavor than the pre-built nickel and kanthal heads. I'm not sure if its just in my head but i get more flavor out of the RBA which is pretty nice and makes me want to start just rebuilding the coils and getting organic cotton and it would be cheaper than buy a pack of pre-built coils. For the record i'm using the new kanger RBA Plus head which has the new bigger side juice holes. For those who have the kanger subtank plus and mini and have used the RBA section, do you guys noticed that you get better flavor out of them compared to the pre-built heads?
