Hello everyone! Im new to the forums but have been vaping for about 1.5 years now and love it. Anyway, i recently picked up an evic vt with a sigelei elite tank running a nickel coil in temp mode. I fell in love with the setup. no issues whatsoever. I lost that setup the other day and bought another evic but this time picked up a few subtank minis That i threw nickel coils in. Ive had subtanks in the past, but only ran with kanthol. I noticed pretty fast there was an issue running this new setup. Id have my subtank running nickel @ about 430 degrees ,set the unit down and come grab it 20 mins later only to be promted with the new or old coil message .Id set same coil and it would start at the resistance it read initially on the atomizer ,but it would be the weakest hit ever. i didnt get it, so id bump the temp up to 550 and still weak as hell. I took the subtank off, held down the fire button, turned the evic off and reinstalled the subtank. now my resistance went from a .13 to a .19. big jump , so i would again take off and re install and the resistance would just jump around again and not stay stable. Ive tried changing coils and even building like 3 of my own and i keep running into this issue. Sometimes when the resistance spikes like that, i get a horrible burnt taste something i shouldnt ever get with temp control) so i go ahead and take apart the coil to rewick/rebuild. I notice NO BURNED COTTON WHATSOEVER! could it be my coils that are giving me this burnt taste? Im not sure what to think aside from a defective evic?? its really frusterating as again ive built like 7 coils now in the nickel occ heads making sure each build is relatively flawless ( coils arent touching, great wicking job, etc). Any help or insight on what my problem might be would be greatly appreciated.
