New To Vaping - Need Some Help!

Hey everybody,

I just recently got into vaping and I've come across a bit of a problem and was hoping I could get some guidance from some more experienced people. I recently purchased a kit from vaporshark, the kit came with an ego style battery. The battery is 900 mah and 3.7 regulated voltage. I then proceeded to purchase 4 iclear 16 2.1 ohm tanks from myvaporstore.

Then I read that the iclear 16's are not recommended for regulated voltage batteries and you are supposed to use them with vv/vw batteries. So my question is, did i make a mistake by purchasing these tanks or will they work good with the battery I have? Hoping I didn't screw myself over...

Anyways, thanks in advanced for the guidance!

You're confused about vaping terminology. Variable voltage is the same thing as regulated voltage.

Regulated mods use variable voltage or variable wattage (or both). You can adjust the output of battery current to the heating coil in the clearomizer or any juice delivery attachment.

I don't know where you read that clearomizers can not be used with regulated mods. That is incorrect information.

I read on the official innokin website. It says "Note: iClear 16 2.0 ohm is for VV/VW device"

My ego is not variable voltage (i can't change the voltage) its set at 3.7...

I assumed that regulated voltage just meant that it wasn't variable, so thank you for clearing that up for me :)

Oh, no regulated means that the voltage will be maintained at a steady level until the battery can't fire anymore. This is common with VV/VW devices. Unregulated means that you just get what the battery can deliver, starting typically at 4.2 and dropping to around 3.5. The 3.7 is the "nominal" voltage.

Your ego will fire it safely, but you will probably want to upgrade to a vv device at some point. The only possible problem you might run into is that the vape can become a bit anemic a few minutes after charge.

"Brief Features:
Innokin iClear 16 dual coil clearomizer

The iClear is the first dual coil clearomizer with a replaceable atomizer. The iClear 16 produces astonishing amount of vapour and flavor.

The first dual coil clearomizer hold 1.6 ml e-juice
resistance: 2.0 ohm or 1.5 ohm

Note: iClear 16 2.0 ohm is for VV/VW device
iClear 16 1.5 ohm is for non-vv devices, such as eGo, lea, leo, etc.
"

I see now. It's the 2.0 ohm of the regular iClear 16 comes stock with. They recommend using the 1.5 ohm coils for use on a non-regulated battery device (mechanical mod or regular eGo battery). You can easily purchase the 1.5 replacement coils to replace the stock 2.0.

1.5 ohm replacement coils for iClear 16 clearomizer

1.5 ohm replacement coils for the iClear 16 clearomizer

I can say from experience that the iClear 16 2.0 ohm coils WILL work just fine on a non-regulated battery device. In fact, my daughter uses iClear 2.0 ohm coils exclusively on her two mechanical mods using 3.7 volt batteries.

Yeah, that what Rob said. A 2.1 ohm atomizer works best when putting out 4 to 4.5 volts. Your current battery might give a decent vape right off the charger but will pretty quickly get "anemic" as Rob said. An ego twist or vision spinner type battery will let you adjust the voltage from 3.2 to around 4.8 volts for $30 or less.

Frankly...Dual coil will not perform that well in this case...Mech mods will work but those Ego sticks, not so much..You can always get an MVP 2... ;)

Yeah I just ordered the MVP V2, I've done a bunch of research and it seems like vv/vw is definitely the way to go. Bummed I wasted the money on the "ego sticks" hopefully i'll find use for them down the road :p

I doubt you've wasted money. I have some eGos... they still get used.

iClear16 of any "ohms" will work fine, as already said.
