Hello all..

I've been using an ecig off and on for a couple of weeks and have really started to enjoy the freedom of it while trying to give up the analogs. There is such a vast array of info that I find myself needing some advice.

I started with the Blu starter kit but soon realized it was lacking what I needed. I moved on to the green smoke which was much better including the flavors and battery life. I then found the tripl3 ego which I have thoroughly enjoyed. My current set up uses the standard ego battery and clearomizer that comes with it. I like this set up for a few reasons: ease of use, good battery life for my use, and discrete style. Now this is where all the confusion sets in. I'd like to get a larger tank for my daily driving routine that fits this battery type that's easier to maintain. I keep reading that this is a 510 connection? Than I've seen tanks with different ohm coils and not sure which is right for this battery.. I'm also looking for something that will hit like a champ. What's the general consensus on matching tanks to this battery? Is there a battery that's better with the same discrete properties? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Any ex-American Spirit menthol (dark green) smokers out there? Any suggestions on a similar strong tobacco but mild menthol liquid? I did get a sample pack from Heather's Heavenly Vapes that has been awesome. I'm a pack a day smoker and the 24mg has been just about right. Thanks!

A Carto tank will give you better taste IMHO. Easy to use once you have mastered how to "prime " one. The cost after you buy one will be about 1.50 every week on average for a new carto to go in your carto tank. Its hard to go back to a clearomozer or Bottom coil after you use a good quality carto set up..... In m opinion.

if you going to continue to use the standard Ego Batt, I would suggest using LR (low resistance) carto's so you can vape some good clouds. The ohms Im talking about would be in the 1.5 to 2.0 range.\

You will have to get a carto tank in a small diameter to attemp to match the size of your ego batt. The tank will probably be a bit wider than the ego. Get a Pyrex tank.

The Protank or davide Mini is a very good choice also. The flavor is just a bit more muted over a good carto tank.

A Dripping Atomizer or RDA being the best taste of all the "toppers"

All my opinion..... Good luck in your quest.

Not extremely discrete. I like to able to stick it in my shirt pocket or my pants pocket.. The larger tank is just for use in the car while I'm driving. Thanks for the reply.

For putting it in your pocket, get the Protank Mini. A Carto may break off at the stem if your not too carefull.

If using in your hand, at home or laying in the car, the carto.

Head on over to the library and check out the 6 part pictorial intro on what is available...there are TONS of new rigs and options out!

The ECF Library

Honestly when upgrading from a cigalike, next step is an ego style battery unless you jump to the head of the class and go straight for an APV

The Protank Mini will fit well and look great. Honestly, a Protank2 looks fine as well, you just have to be careful with it because it's extremely top heavy. It comes with a cone (thread cover) that makes the transition in width gradual and, in my mind anyway, quite nice looking. Go with the 1.8 ohm coils and you'll be plenty happy.

Just about everything will go with your ego battery, its has ego threading and 510 threading. Take your pick:

- Kanger Protanks
- iClears
- Vision products like Vivi Novas, Nano, CE clearos
- Cartomizers like Boge, Smoktech, and Kanger
- cartotanks
- the new Aspire BDCs

Or if you're looking for something budget you can get a Kayfun rebuildable. Cheap and easy to use.

I just got a kanger protank 2 that I put on my stainless steel smok winder and it hits a lot smoother than the iclear 16. My reason was to be able to not add liquid as often. It comes with a beauty ring that makes it look like the space needle.. pretty cool but it is a lot heavier than my iclear 16. I also use it on my MVP 2.0 and same results just different device...

Very good point. I did buy a cone. I have the protank 2, which didn't come with one. I also have the mini protank 2. Love em both. I use a 2.2 ohm coil with mine, though.

Is there a battery that's better with the same discrete properties? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The next direct step up is a VV battery such as the Joyetech Ego twist, Vision Spinner, or a Smoktech Winder. They look like ego batteries with the same 510/ego connection but you can adjust the voltage with a dial on the bottom. At first it doesn't seem necessary, until after you have one. Turning up the voltage on some equipment with some liquids improves the flavor, vapor and throat hit, and overall satisfaction. Your battery is 3.7 volts or less only. Higher ohm devices such as a 2.4 ohm coil sometimes perform better at 4+ volts. Peronsally, I have two Vision Spinners. Love 'em.

Or you can just get a Provari. Just kidding. Had to use that joke once.

Amen. HHV Legend was the first 30ml bottle of e-liquid I bought. I love it.
