Greetings. I've been lurking through the myriad of threads on this forum....wow, was not aware there were so many people up on the e-cigs. In fact, I only saw an ad a couple times in some obscure flight/travel magazine. I thought it prudent to at least introduce myself and share how I stumbled upon the e-cig as well as my experiences thus far.

I've been very fortunate with great health all my life. Active, healthy, athletic and smoking has never "seemed" to slow me down (although I realize it is a perception). At 55 years young (funny how you wake up one day and 20 years has passed), I've been thinking more and more about my mortality, quitting smoking but had absolutely no clue how this would happen. Been smoking analogs since high school. I've tried the gum......gag me with a spoon...please! I've tried cold turkey.....talk about ansy.....then stuffing more food in my mouth at every opportunity. So, long story short, quitting smoking was only a dream. I'm certain all of you can relate.

A week before Christmas, crusing the shopping mall, my wife and I came upon a kiosk for smokeless smoking. We stopped and asked many questions, tried a few puffs and I was quite surprised at the vapor that looked exactly like smoke and man, the throat hit....but it was odorless...how cool was that? You mean, I could just push the blue button, inhale and poof? Radical! No lighters, no smell and anytime I want? This is way too good to be true :)

I had no idea about what type of e-cig to buy, what was good or bad, big or small....it was all brand new information. I was on a mission to research and the web provided a ton of information. The kiosk vendor was selling the "eGo" as their package deals so after reading all the good things about those and the compatibility of the 510's it was a no brainer. Went and purchased the kit with 2 batteries, attys, etc. and a bottle of juice (thinking my wife would like to switch over as well).

Learned a great deal in just a few days....differences of quality, grade, vg vs. pg, etc. Ordered some Johnson Creek Red Oak (VG based) and am loving it over the PG based pomegranite flavor that came with the kit. Also using the 11 mg versus 18.

I've been vaping with absolutely no analogs for 14 days. Am traveling this week and thought I was coming down with a cold. Stuffy head, runny nose, headaches......am thinking this is probably NOT a cold but rather withdrawl from all the toxins contained in analogs. Taking lots of Vitamin C and drinking more liquids. Can smell an analog a mile away and although there are distinct symptoms directly related to detoxifying, I still can't imagine having an analog ever again.

Despite what the so called "experts" say about e-cigs, their ability to aid in ending tobacco use, I'm here to share that this tool (the e-cig) is by far, one of the greatest things I've ever used. Simply amazing. I've always enjoyed smoking and this alternative is the perfect solution to the smoking "dilemma".

Thanks for reading such a long post :) Cheers.

Congrats on the switch! It's the only thing that could ever have helped me get away from analogs. I'm coming up on my first year wothout a cigarette since I was a teeneager. Kudos for doing your homework and being aware of withdrawals and remedies. May your vapor-filled future be long, healthy and happy!

Welcome to our community! You seem to understand why PVs are such a hot topic right now. Good luck!

Thank you all very much for the warm welcome! I sent the forum link to my wife....she tried her ego system here and there but one day had really bad chest pains....she wasn't sure whether or not it was directly related to vaping or what but made her gun shy. I sent her a link from the other thread dealing with symptoms. Am hoping once home to get her on some different juices that she may find one preferable. I am so looking forward NOT going out to the cold garage with her while she stinks up the place....LOLOLOL. Can't wait till Spring to finally clean the "smoking" space...forever!

I am also amazed with vaping. I am using smokelessdelite. I wanted to replicate the look and feel of an analog. 8 days without an analog and I feel great and grateful! Just found this website and I am very appreciative of this forum.
Looking for a home vaporizer with better battery life so will continue to read alot and enjoy the brother/sisterhood of vapes.

Best Regards - breathing and smelling good
Mike
