Hello all, I just started vaping about 2 weeks ago. I was in my locla smoke shop and decided to pick up a cheap vape and juice for about $30. I got the Ego-T that came in a blister pack deal. I joined this forum, finding out that vaping is more than just like smoking cigs, its like a hobby. Also im in hopes to learn more. I have an issue that doesn't neccesarily belong here but ill go ahead and adress it haha. So with this cheap Ego-t I loved it so much and bought a Kanger Protank 3 after checking out reviews. I love how its able to be disassembled... BUT it doesnt produce near the amount of vapor as the clearomizer that the Ego came with. Would I need to get a VV battery such as the Ego Twist? Im thinking it doesnt have enough power to engage the dual coils on the Protank 3. I really want to get this fixed. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated :)

Different toppers will provide different vapor production. Since you were using a clearomizer the coil sits at the top and provides a much warmer vape, as where the protank has coils that sit down lower and would give a cooler vape.

If you are noticing a very noticable drop in production it also could be a big difference in ohm's. do you happen to know the resistance of the clearomizer, it may just say lr or sr or 1.5 or 3.0 ohm's. Also what ohm head you are using on the pt3?

I`m kinda in the same place you are with upgrading gear. I just ordered a Kanger Aerotank which also has the same dual coil as the PT3. From what I`ve read here, you could use a better battery with more voltage. I`ve been checking out the Innokin itaste VV 3.0. Here`s a thread for it, everyone seems to like it: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/476013-innokin-itaste-vv-v3-owners-group.html I`m interested in it due to its size, that its VV & VW. I`m not looking for a big mod yet.

The PT3 is 2.o Ohms and the clearomizer I dont know, its just a disposable CE4 one Haha

Fixed voltage eGos vape at 3.7 volts. I've used 2.0 ohms on my eGos, and it doesn't give out the vapor like the 1.5 omh. If you pick up a low resistance coil for your tank, then there should be more vapor :)

Thats all im hoping it is Haha. Are there any other reliable but reasonable priced batteries you could suggest?

Hello and Welcome to the forums.

I have two 1300 mAh Ego - T's. A bit wider/shorter than other eGo batteries. I really like em. Been performing great. VV eGo type batteries are also available. genuine Kanger, Vision, etc. are generally good quality.

what device would be best is optional. i own over 25 and love them all for different reasons. some are stay at home set ups others i prefer on long trips or days out where i wont be home for most of the day.

one of the more popular options starting out would be the vamo. Very sturdy and reliable, I have owned 3 at different times. one thing to keep in mind if getting a vv/vw mod is the pt3 will only handle so much voltage/wattage so cranking it up to max can give undesirable results. The other popular option would be a twist or spinner type ego battery which will offer a few different voltage settings so you can see what works better for you

As another poster mentioned, you can also adjust the vape intensity via resistance.

Also, higher VG concentration juices, should produce more vapor. Also noticed cotton wicks also yield a bit more vapor., not certain about this though.

Since your starting out, you could just experiment with different resistances. Low = 1.5 - 2.0 Ohms, Standard around 2.0-2.5 Ohms, High above 2.5 Ohms and maybe higher VG juices (if more vapor is desired). If low does not satisfy you, then you might consider an inexpensive VV device.

Im thinking what im going to do is go to my smoke shop to try out some VV batteries and if they produce good vapor i'll just get a new battery. Maybe get some lower resistance heads for the PT3. If that doesnt work I have no clue whats wrong with me Haha :p
I just got an iTaste MVP that I use with a Protank 3. It does pretty well for me. They are relatively inexpensive as well. $45-50? Maybe try one of those?
