Hello all,

I used to be a light social smoker, I have a craving for the occasional drag now and then. I now am looking to a healthier alternative and recently stated to research vaping and all the different e-cigs that our out there. I was looking into getting a blu standard starter pack but then found that there were some complaints about them, bad hits and such... I have recently found V2 cigs and Vapor4Life's VK kit. So I was wondering if some people could point me in the right direction. Below are somethings i am looking for...

Criteria

-Cost: 60 bucks or less (but throw out all recommendations)
-Cigarette style (no tanks)
-Automatic Battery (I don't understand the advantage of a manual)
-Refillable carts or available blank carts
-Good Battery life
-Good Vapor Production
-Upstanding Company

Thank you for any help! :w00t:

P.S- I also used to smoke cigars, any good e-cigars out there? Or e-liquid cigar flavors?

The automatic battery is gonna be the deal breaker
For some reason my automatic (RIP) let too much additional air into the mix
It might have been my setup and since I'm new too, I wouldn't know if NO others do that or ALL others do that

I went with EGO Twist (manual) just based on the popularity

Howdy! I started w/v2 waaaay back in July. They were ok enough to get me off tobacco cigarettes. After I started w/the v2 I began watching youtube video reviews of ecigs. I think after 2-3 weeks of the v2 I upgraded to my 1st ego system. With my v2 I was exhaling vapor and the reviewers were exhaling vapor. In 5+ months I've gone from v2 to ego to ego/kgo variable voltage and am now vaping on a shiny chrome young june lavatube 1.5t. I didn't stick w/the v2 very long before upgrading but it worked getting me off the analogs. The way I look at it was (for me) the v2 was a tricycle, ego was a 2 wheeler w/training wheels, ego/kgo variable voltage was a 2 wheeler w/out training wheels, my shiny chrome young june lavatube is a 10 speed and my next step will be variable wattage which I will equate to a motorcycle.

Although I've never tried them personally the 'volt' from smokeless image is the same style as v2 and from what I've seen on the ecf it gets rave reviews.

Just doing the research is a step in the right direction. Hope to see you vaping soon!!

Sorry...I missed the fact that you said NO thanks to cig style. Get 2 ego twists and some cartomizers. Skip the cig sized ones all together if you don't mind it being the size of a sharpie marker. The larger the battery the better performance you will get like longer battery life so less often charging because they only hold up to 300 recharges and then it's in the trash with them. Hope this helps. It can be really overwhelming in the beginning but it won't take long and it will all be 2nd nature.

Nope, having a tank doesn't mean that its a "mod". What you are asking for is something called a cartomizer. Thats what you find in the "cig-style" ecigs you are talking about.

I can't really give you experienced first hand info, since I never had an analog style ecig. Like you, I looked into buying and went through the cig style options and ended up with and eGo lol.... which by the way still allows you put on a cart instead of a tank. Anyways, go here and watch this review on apollo standard kit. I gather they are pretty good and are at least the top rated ecigs I have seen on most websites.

happy hunting.....

I love automatics. And contrary to what alot will tell you, the auto set up, almost always called "KR808d1" are amazing vapes. KR808d1 at one time were plaged with crapp. But the isues have been resolved.

I highly recommend 2 options.

1) Smoketip - a company few talk about, but has outstanding quality and a great guarentee. Lifetime on the batteries. I used that guarentee with no questions asked(save your reciept) many times. These are KR808d1s and will accept any of these cartimizers. The Smoketip cartomizeres are a bit pricey but excellent taste and quality, so also look at V4L and others for KR808D1 cartomizers.
Also free shipping. Smoketip.com

2) Echo - This is an automatic fat bat. Looks like an ego, but burns warmer for more vapor. It has simple to fill 3ml cartomizers that last, can be refilled many times, and can even be cleaned and made to be like new many times. Mountain vapor has these for $45.00 a kit. Comes with 5 echomizers. mtnvapor.com

I started with the Smokeless Image Volt. Great customer service. Love their batteries. I actually have 2 manuals and 2 automatics. You can get 2 batteries, usb charger, pack of cartos and personal charging case for $65 (but there are other starter kits for less.) I have been pleased with their products and all (grant it, it suits my needs at work.) Shipping usually takes bout 2-3 days too, which is great.

I also got a Ego twist 1000 mah. I havent used it yet but i have heard many good things bout it and the price is in your budget too. Battery alone will cost $20-$30 (based upon mah you choose), then you are open to a world of other stuff. So thats another idea for you.

When i first started way back i used a 510, it was fine as long as i kept a spare 510 close by. 510's (cig style) are at a disadvantage due to battery life since the battery is the size of, well, a cigarette. But i can offer no suggestions other than the ol school joye 510 which always seem to suffice my vape needs at that early stage of the learning process. Also maybe consider a passthru, it lets u vape while plugged in and alot are 5 volt which lets you try high voltage vaping. My first 510 kit came with two 510 batteries(one manual, one auto) a 510 passthru, two atties and,and some cartos. It cost about $30 back in april 2010...i bought it at nhaler.com. There are alot of cheap starter kits to let you see what you like and what you dont. One piece of advice i can offer is simple but not easy, never get frustrated and give up, because it can be a bit overwhelming but worth it. Oh and when u decide you want a mod, check out the reo. Happy vaping
