New to Vaping stopped chew

Hello all,

I started vaping 2 weeks ago. I am a non smoker but have been doing chew for the last 5 or 6 years. I decided to take up vaping more for the flavor and curiosity if anything. I went to the vape shop not knowing anything. They set me up with the Aspire Atlantis and the CF MOD (The one you put the battery into). I also got a peach E-Juice with 6 mg nic. Man it tasted like candy. I really didn't think it would help with the chew. I have been going through about 2 cans every day and a half. I couldn't go longer than a half hour without it in my mouth or I would start feeling weird. I had also tried the nic gum and patches over the years which didn't work. They helped somewhat with that loss of nic feeling but something still made me want that chew under my lip. Well, on my 4th day of vaping I was vaping with a friend and a "holy crap" moment surfaced. I just realized I hadn't done my chew in the last 3 days. I hadn't even thought about it until that moment.

I really don't know how it worked. 6mg has to be a small amount compared to what I was getting having chew in my mouth all day.All I can think is maybe it was just the distraction of the whole vaping experience.

Anyways, I am now vaping on the LPV 2s box mod and have the Vertex v2 RBA on the way as I type. Rebuilt my first coil last night on a little knockoff RBA I got from the vape store.

The only thing I am trying to get use to is inhaling. I seem to cough every so often but I figure since I never smoked I never really inhaled so my lungs aren't use to it yet.

Thanks for the great site!

You should try an Aspire Nautilus or Kangertech Genitank which will give you a tighter draw for mouth hits and you can inhale as you like. 6mg juice will be much more forgiving on these tanks as well. The Atlantis, as well as it's loved, doesn't really provide a good mouth-to-lung hit as the airflow is so unrestrictive. And as a sub-ohm device, the nicotine tends to hit a bit harder on it so a lower nic level is key. It's more for straight lung-hitters who enjoy long draws and big clouds.

Contrats on giving up the dip. I have to admit I still use Camel Snus when I'm in the office but not nearly as much as I did before vaping.

Thanks. The Atlantis does of the one hole. The thing is, it seems like I get more flavor going straight to the lungs so I want to keep trying. Lol. The morning is worse but as the day goes on im able to do it more without caughing. I actually ordered the Kangertech Sub tank with the Vertex v2 RDA. Mostly because I think it looks cool. lol Not sure if that's a good reason or not.

Thanks for the advice and all the welcomes.

Hello, I am new here also, I started with an Atlantis and a Segelei 100w and got a Kanger subtank, you will enjoy the subtank, I think it is a smoother draw, as far as the coughing goes, I did smoke for 28 years and I even coughed, especially in the morning, it took me a couple of weeks to get the coughs gone, but still have an issue depending on the juice. I went to a higher vg juice and it seemed to help. I have read that some people have more issues with pg juices. I still try to stay at 70% vg as the pg does Cary flavor better and in the subtank it will struggle to pull higher than 70% vg through the wicks. The atlantis does seem to handle full vg. My two cents worth, I am new and just my experience. Good luck

Thanks for the advice. My fav juice so far is Mporium Liquid "Just Peachy" says it's 60vg 40pg. Been vaping it at 35 watts on the Atlantis. Wish I could find other flavors as good but I have tested so many and nothing has been as full flavored. I really like the fruity sweet flavors. This stuff is like you are eating it.

Just wanted to say congrats on quitting chewing, coming from an ex-chewer. I know it's not the easiest thing to do. I was impressed with you being able to do only 6mg nic. I started with 24mg and it took a couple of weeks to get down to 12mg, Currently splitting my day between 12mg and 6mg after 4 weeks chew free. I hope you continue the good work.

Congrats! I used to dip ½ a can and smoke ½ a pack a day. I had to go with 24mg with a protank 3 on an ego battery and with my sigelei 100w+. I went to the Atlantis and was able to drop down to 12mg.
But yeah, it feels a lot better not having a big ol dip in your lip and having to spit everywhere. I had my last dip 11/4/14 and my last smoke 11/22/14. Just keep at it!
