I got a subtank nano today and i must admit this little thing is sexy. Feels nicely made and looks really nice. Im very happy with its ascetics. And it goes nicely on my little ego one i got. But oh dam this think hits my lungs and throat like fire even only with the 1.2 ohm coil! I prepared and got some 0mg nic juice and mixed down my 18 to about 4.5 nic and still. Oh dam. I cant even mouth to lung this thing with out serious burn. The stock ego one tank with the 1.0 ohm coil isnt like this! I dont get it. Whats going on? Sorry im only 3 weeks into vaping.
New to vaping, Subtank nano w/ 1.2 hits so hard and burns!!!

I have no experience with the ego one...Hum...I use my nano on a Istick 30 watt and I only get what you are talking about in the morning. I can barely take a hit the first 10 or so pulls of the day. It burns and is peppery but it goes away and then I can take godzilla like pulls

What watts are you at? i dont take mine past 8 watts on the istick, it is a strong hit, did you prime the coil with juice first?
could have a bad coil that has hotspots, producing harsh vapour even with a saturated wick. I personally had no luck with either the .5 or 1.2 coil that came with my subtank mini. Rba section is treating me okay though.
I too would suggest airflow.
I have no experience with the nano but Psychedeliduck made a valid point on hotspots and same said for Texasbox on wick issue.
Out of curiosity, can you dual coil the nano?
I had hotspot issues on my Kanger sub tank with single coil, once I built dual coil all my issues were alleviated. Just a thought but I am assuming the term nano would negate the opportunity to dual coil...

my buddy had a subtank and forgot to wet the coil first and burned the cotton and that was it never worked right untill he changed the head
Thanks for all the replies. Yeah i primed the head before i tried it. Few drops in the hole and filled the tank and then let it sit for 30 min before i vaped it. Is that good?enough? I dont taste any burnt flavor. Just burn. Maybe its just me.. ill have to buy a pack of coils i guess to be sure...
well I just tried the .5 ohm coil and hot dam. So much vapor for my nubby lungs.. lol... i cant even take 1 second hulls off this thing... hahahahah.. Heres the interesting thing. the burn is about the same as the 1.2 ohm coil tho. I dont know. Maybe this little beauty is too much for me.... lol
It is a really intense vape, especially with the .5ohm coil.
With the Ego 1 and the 1.2 ohm coil you're getting 14.7 watts on a fresh charge. With the .5 ohm coil you're getting 35.2 watts.
If you've never really vaped like that before it could be pretty intense. I can't even lung inhale with it at all @ 6mg of nic. I can close the single airhole halfway and lung to mouth it at 6 mg, but that's it, otherwise it's way too harsh for me.
I need to try some 3mg, see if that helps. That OCC coil is just really efficient at delivering nicotine.
Since you have some 0 mg I'd try using that. If it doesn't burn then you know what your problem is.
The Flavor is so nice! its so much nicer then the stock ego one tank. Ive been gaming all night with it at my side and even after 30 plus small mouth to lung hits its still burns like im smoking dope for the first time lol.... Its definitely not for a noob 3 week vaper like me.. lol... could it be something to do with my pg/vg mixture? sorry if its a stupid question. the only stuff i gots is 67pg/37vg.
Well the higher pg does create more throat hit. It's possible but I'd try rolling back the nic first.
Alright I put back the 1.2 ohm coil. I swapped out the juice to 0mg nic and also put it on my istick and turned it down as far as i could and i can now take a bit longer puff. But 2 second mouth to lung hits still burns and hits my lungs hard.. And is not smooth at all. Its not the throat part thats bothering me tho. Its the burning in the lungs. I feel like i want to cough every time. Well maybe ill have to try out some higher VG stuff....

Adjust the AFC to where the first hole is one half or less open.

It got some new juice that was 65pg/35vg and it was really harsh to me at first. This was the first juice I have vaped with high pg. I got to say I'm not really a fan. I changed to some high vg and no problems. High vg just works better for me. I recommend switching to high vg to see if it helps. I had some 12 MG nic and it made me dizzy, I had to switch to 6mg and was alot better.
Im using 100% VG 6mg nicotine and my airflow wide open at 8 watts I cannot mouth to lung hit this thing i will cough like crazy best way to hit it is fast lung hits
