I said, what did you measure, as in total resistance between the 2 ends or each coil?
If its the total resistance, of course its 1.7 ohm, because its 2 3.4 ohm coils running parallel. That says nothing about the wattage on each coil - in fact, since wattage is additive, you have to take the total wattage and split it in half to get energy of each coil. But adding them up you still get the energy you put out.
Therefore, Ocelots calculation is correct.
To save you from any embarrassment, go edit your posts and i will edit this.

embaressment? lol... i am trying to wrap my brain around how a fixed voltage can split its power between 2 circuts...they are basically independent of each other I and will never be to embarrassed to learn are you?
I metered 1.6 between post and edge

In parallel circuit, each coil is actually directly connected to the power source. The voltage through a coil is measured by the difference of electrical charge between 2 ends. We know one end of each coil has 0 charge, and the other end of both has the charge of the power source.
Its not like the charge of the power source is split in half because you put 2 coils on it instead of 1.
Now, to answer your confusion: the fixed voltage source is not splitting its power. In fact, it is better if you think of the 2 coils as 2 seperate circuits: the resistance on each coil is 3 ohm, so the wattage is 4.5
I believe you are confused because you dont see how putting 2 coils of 3 ohm each in parallel can actually lower the total resistance. That is simple as well: think of it as opening up another lane of traffic. If the resistance of each lane is the same, more total traffic will pass through a system with 2 lanes than the system with 1 lane.
Metering between post and end gives you total resistance, which is lower (half, actually, assuming both coils have the same resistance) than the resistance of each individual coil.

I understand ....makes sense ...thanks for explaining ...i had a long chat with Phil Busardo about this very thing talking about dual coiling a genny...i guess i gat brain lock when i meter and get 1.6...knowing that my fixed voltage is 3.2...i figure my watts to be around 7.5...but i am no electrical engineer i just go by the popular charts....regardless...my dual coil carto produces as well if not better than some of my carto tanks on a vv devise..
The idea behind dual coil is to increase heating surfaces. However, the concept is flawed as you will be cutting too much energy to put into both coils that the temperature in many areas become insufficient.
The concept can be extended successfully to gennies though: i have seen people putting 2 wicks into the wick hole and fill hole, and wrap parallel coils on both. You get double power output and double evaporated juice volume that way (given you use the same coil as you would in a normal set up, and use a ridiculously powerful power source). I have yet to try it as i am still quite content with my AGA with just 1 coil.

Too funny because I ordered 5 new ego batteries today and all of them have a designs on them. Out of the 5, I ordered 3 from TheVaporGirl.com, she has some awesome very girly designs, and of course I had to get a matching clearomizer for each one, lol. I'm becoming obsessed with drip tips as well, I ordered one to match each of my new batteries, as well as a few more...I have a problem!

The best thing is finding what works for you...and not smoking cigs...it really is a fun hobby especially if you like gadgets

You have the same problem as almost everyone on this forum does
I think there is an entire collection of eGo batteries, called eGo Q(ueen), with pretty designs on them. Not saying you need to get all of them or anything...
I have tried many tanks,
Usually the tanks tend to mute flavors,
The pro tank especially was disappointing as far as flavor
I have found the smoktech dual coil mega to give great flavor, I like the mega because of how much it holds and also it gives a cooler vape compared to the shorter carto's
i found them at at decent price at

by buying them 10 at a time
Usually though I found that they get very hot , as I am a chain vaper ,
I found best vape and flavor at 4v,even though the resistance would call for a lower volt, but they seem to hold up well
I never get a dry hit,as I do sometimes in a tank
I have never burnt one out from higher voltage
I do need to occasionally blow through it to clear the air chamber
I am still looking for the perfect tank though
Is there a tank that does not mute flavors , and why does the pro tank totally mute flavor

Once you decide to move into the VV world - I give you two weeks, tops
- look at the iTaste VV 3.0 or the iTaste MVP. It seems these are favorites among females due to their smaller size, square/box shape (...vs carrying around a large-ish, round-ish, metallic-ish object 
) and they will both use all of your existing eGo threaded clearomizers....but, whatever you do, for the love all that is holy, DON'T go to JWraps ...!!!
I hope you aren't married - or, at the very least, if you are, you chose him for his money and not his good looks.
