What your buddy has is a good starting point. My wife, who has vaped for about a year now still uses standard eGo batteries like the one your friend uses and Protank Minis (except she has the Mini 2, don't know about the 3) and she is really happy.

Other choices that get high praise here are:

batteries:
MVP 2.0
iTaste 3.0 vv/vw

Toppers:
Aspire Nautilus
Aspire ET Glass
Davide Glassomizer
Protank II
Evod

Just make sure you have back-ups to your back-ups. This includes batteries and coils if applicable. I would have at least 2 batteries total, at least 3 coils on hand at all times and enough juice that you wouldnt run out before an order was shipped. If you have a local B&M, this wouldn't apply so much.

Welcome!

The EVODs are a great starting point. Simple to use; simple to maintain. I'm going to throw out my :2c: because I did start with a Vision Spinner, but I would have been happier (maybe) going straight to this:

Innokin iTaste VV (V3) Express kit - 101 Vape

I have an assortment of EVOD tanks (and one Mini ProTank 2) that I really like. Again, simple to fill and use.

You may go through a lot of metamorphosis before you find what you really like (or you may end up with a whole bunch of shiny things that you like anyway!)

Good luck and happy vaping! :vapor:

You should be able to switch to vaping quickly at three cigs per day. An eGo Twist, Vision Spinner 2 or similar may be just the thing. You don't need a lot of battery capacity. If you binge the pack on weekends you might want something a little heftier, like a MVP2 that will get you through the weekend between recharges but that could be overkill for you. The atomizers your friend recommends are good. You probably don't need a carto tank or anything with a larger capacity tank. A small carto tank set up that uses standard or shorty sized cartos could provide better vapor than the Protank.

I have only been vaping for about 4 months but like what was posted already start simple but one thing I would say is get a spinner the best thing is did pretty quickly was change to VV. I got my new Vision Spinner II yesterday I love it but I don't know because of price if I would have made it my first battery when I was making sure vaping was for me. I am very into the aspire clearomizers I love both the BDC CE-5 & ET-S I don't like dealing with top fee and wicks. Also I was given what turned out to be great advise is get a starter kit with two batteries (one to charge and one to use) I was a heavy smoker and I never want to run the risk of not having a working battery also if you get your starter kit local and you find you like a clearomizer/tank in the shop better than the one offered with the starter kit ask if they sub (I know my local shop does) (sometimes it will be a few more $$'s but worth getting what you think will work better for you) Good luck !!

Make the switch, you will not regret it. In my opinion a simple Spinner with either an EVOD or Protank. Always have a coil or three on hand and a backup battery. Now I know it is pretty intimidating with all these terms you catch on really quick. If you have a local vape store that's a good place to start. (Vape stores are commonly referred to as B&M's on here)

I second this choice. I'm using a Vision Spinner (1300mAh) and an Evod which lasts me all day without requiring a refill. I travel 75 minutes each way to/from work and vape almost constantly the entire time. I found that the fruit flavors were better for me - I found that the tobaccos were not what I was expecting (1 pack a day for 40 years).

Good luck!

I was about to start with an Evod kit before everybody convinced me to jump to the MVP and i'm glad i did . How can 700+ five star reviews be wrong . Read them for yourself , comes with everything you need .

Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape

I agree with your logic. I started with an iTaste vv V3 because I wasn't ready for the box form factor. Both the vv V3 and the MVP are feed thru's and that was a plus for me. I bought a cheap ifest (I think) battery (with feed thru) for my back up and a couple MPT 2's. My idea was if I could vape for 2 weeks I would at least break even. That was about 3 months ago. I'm ahead now even though I've bought an MVP and a Kayfun clone. Bottom line, if you're sure you want to quit, you don't have to start at the bottom. A vv V3 or MVP would be a much better choice.

I'd get a Protank of some sort, or an Aspire Nautlius. Depends on the size/form factor your prefer and the money you wanna invest. Try to look for one of them with AFC if you go with a PT.

For the battery, Vision Spinners and iTaste MVPs are great for the money. You'll quickly outgrow the Spinner, though. The MVP will make good company throughout the journey.. I still use mine.

to ecf and the wonderful world of vaping. You will not find a better group of people than those on ecf. Lots of people start out on those and are totally pleased. I did. If I knew then what I know now.........I would have started off with the mvp2 for the battery life alone. Wonderful and easy to use. Good luck to you at what ever you go with. If you have any problems, there is always someone here who cares and will help ya. :)

I used a ego twist for a while then upgraded to an mvp2 then traded that out for a tesla and got a nautilus . Vvvw with adjustable airflow for great throat and lung hits (helps with the smoking thing for me. I also smoked a pack a day for a long long time) and I can swap out the batteries.
