Hi, I am a fan of the joye eGo series. I have owned a few devices and have found the smaller devices if you are a new user tend to not have a sufficient amount of battery life to be comforting. With the smaller 510 I found that i was waiting for batteries to charge alot. With the ego i get 9-12 hours of solid vaping out of a single battery. I smoked 1.5packs/day and began vaping with a single battery 510 sized unit. I then bought a dual 510 kit, then an ego,and now the ego-t. All of these units are very nice. Both units(510&ego) produce great flavor and good vapor with good feeling most here refer to as throat hit(TH). Get a device you are comfortable with, a trustworthy vendor, find some juice that is interesting and give it a go. Good Luck & Happy vaping.

If you were a pretty heavy smoker the ego would probably work better for you. If you're REALLY attatched to the "cig" look then the 510 is closer but most people let go of that attachment. I have a 510 I smoked between 1 1/2 and two packs of lights per day. I do ok with it but I will move on to something else when my budget allows.

UUUUGGG! Another brand!!!

Relax :) Riva is a pretty safe bet because it's quality and it's inexpensive. The only complaints I've seen on the ego have been from people using the ego-T s if you get the joye ego you're still betting safe and it's not hard to go to the ego-T from there later on if you want to take a chance. Some people love tanks others hate them so save that option for later after you kind of know what its all about.

Most people here will point you to one of those two models.

What's your feeling on the eGo or Riva...the majority in this forum is suggesting them. You have been one of the few saying Bloog.

Or does anyone else have an opinion on the Bloog?

I've never used one but have read one good review. The big problem is they only use "auto" batteries. I could never recommend an auto battery. Too many failures, inconsistent performance, power cut-offs and dead batteries due to leakage. Plus having to do the double, triple inhale "crap" to get a half way decent vape. Just not worth the trouble especially when manual batteries work so much better. If you weren't new, I would recommend you get a variable volt PV which provides the best performance with the least problems because you can adjust the power to fit any atomizer/cartomizer you choose to use.

The thing about an eGo/RIva is you get a long lasting battery and tthey have a 510 connection which gives you many choices of atomizers, cartomizers, clearomizers, tank attys, etc. It can be expensive trying different setups, but if you try something and don't like it, there's something else to try.

The big selling point about kr-808d1 devices like what V4L and (I think) Bloog are the wide variety of prefilled cartos available.

I personally don't care for cartos. Many people love them.

I always recommend a Joye 510 starter kit or a Joye Ego starter kit to new users. Google them, compare prices, have fun : )

Regular 510 is cheap, but if you end up liking vaping (which you will), you'll probably want to upgrade. These batteries will only last about 2-4 hours depending on how much you hit it. One of the advantages is that the 510 is pretty tiny

The Ego is a bit more expensive, usually about $30 more for a nice starter kit... but it will keep you happy for much longer if you like vaping. These bateries have about 3x the amount of battery life that a regular 510 has. They are a little bit bigger, but still pretty small and very stylish!

My favorite juice vendor is backwoodsbrew.net... but there are so many!
