Hi all!

I've been a smoker for about 40 years, averaging a pack a day. In spite of the smoking, at age 57 I'm active, healthy and have no known smoking-related problems...except a bit of a cough in the mornings from time to time.

Throughout the years, I've watched the price of cigarettes here in Canada soar. I just can't justify spending $11 - $13 every day, so I decided to try vaping. I found a wonderful company here in Canada with a fabulous product and wonderful customer service. I started vaping this past weekend and I've only had three or four real cigarettes each day, compared to my usual pack a day. The rest of the time, I've been vaping. My e-cigarettes have no nicotine in them, so I think I'm doing pretty well. My goal is to eventually cut out the real cigarettes altogether. Do you all agree that I'm doing okay with this?

First off, congrats on making the first steps towards kicking the analogs. I think you're on the right track but if I may suggest, start yourself off with a medium or low nic level if you can. That will ease your transition. Once you kick the analogs completely, you can step down the nic, or just enjoy the feeling in a safe manor. Many people vape for the nic and the safety of not inhaling all of the nasty stuff cigs have. Either way, congrats again on making the right choice.

Sounds good;
If you keep a special tank with eliquid that contains some nicotine in it, then you might cut the smokes altogether; its the smoke that messes up the lungs, not the nicotine.

There are some great Canadian vendors that take EMT. Ask a few questions in here to get a good VV mod and a atty that will work for you. I suggest putting out the cash for a good charger and batts and jump right into the 18xxx series batteries without bothering with ego style stick batteries, you'll be a happier vaper. The PV is your choice but I use a mech with a kick and have both worlds.

Welcome to the forums! Congrats on the switch. Just like you, I went straight from 1 pack a day to 0mg nic. While occasionally smoking 3-4 ciggs a day, when I had really bad cravings. Took me a lil under 2 months to kick the analogs. There is really no need to start with nic in your liquid. My advice is do what works for you. Stay strong and vape on.

Edit: during the 2 month or so period, I slowly cut down on ciggs per day.
