Hi ECF my names cory and im pretty new to vaping. I've only had 2 different mods which are the evic vt and still have my koopor plus with the tfv4. I don't really want it anymore, i would like to get into mechanical mods instead. I was wondering if anyone on here could tell me a few good mech mods and rda's. Im not looking for super expensive stuff but like 150 and lower is pretty good for me. Im going to try to learn ohms law and battery safety and all that stuff if i do get one. Thanks for the help guys!

Mechs are wonderful. I'm a mekkie from way back. But you're going to give up a lot to have them, regulateds are much easier to use and a lot safer. I strongly recommend "learn[ing] ohms law and battery safety and all that stuff" before you try to get into a mech. It's also going to be pretty much a requirement for you to be a coil builder if you want to go mech; it's the only way to regulate the vape. Let me suggest you buy a clone dripper and a coil tool kit, definitely including an ohmmeter, and practice making some coils using your current mods for power. Once you've got that down, then order a $15 Nemesis clone from Fasttech to play with before committing serious bucks to the project. A Nemi is a hard hitting dude, I have three of them and use them all the time.

I moved away from mech's as well not that there's anything wrong with them but SS316L in a velocity in temperature control is just too good :p
I like SS316 myself, but I generally run it in wattage mode. Clean tasting wire, though, very clean. And God, does it slick up nice when you dry burn to rewick! Honestly, sometimes I can't tell the coil has been used. A little discolored from the heat, but you get that just test firing it.

I've been using the same coil for 2 weeks now, still like new! still great flavor, I use it in wattage too, temp control when I don't have time to pay attention to have much juice I have in it, no burning just gets cooler.

I hope that you're willing to do extensive research and a toooon of reading before getting into mech mods. Over the last couple months I've probably done multiple days of reading or more (articles, guides, tons of forums, pages on ohm's law, etc) as I am relatively new as well, and I still don't feel comfortable with using a device that is unregulated as of yet.

I believe personally one should expand their knowledge and experience through the course of a few months at least before attempting to dwell into the more experienced and dangerous part of vaping, unregulated mods. That's my opinion though, especially considering you are saying you're a brand new vaper, I'm sure others would advise the same thing. There's a lot of things to learn, and one can only absorb so much knowledge within a certain amount of time.

Whatever you do, vape, but vape safely, and welcome to ECF! The community here is fantastic and they will most definitely help you in anything you may need :)
