My mom was a smoker and a druggie for 30+ years, and finally gave up smoking for vaping a few months ago. She gave me her vape since she was getting a better one and I kept asking for it. Shes super.... Weird in the head, so I don't blame her for not telling me anything lol

Well, if she was using the vape for a few months, then she might still have some of the replacement coils for it (let's hope she was changing her coils for goodness sakes) ask her if she has any of those, otherwise you need to buy some..

I'm gonna get a 5 pack of 1.2 and that should work, right? I figured out how to change the coils, so it should be easy.

Yep, that should work! If you change your coil about once week, that will get you a little over a months worth of coils.. they do need changed regularly.

Yeah, she told me that she didn't get any coils with it, so I'm gonna buy some.

Yes, Axl Addams, that should work fine, as long as the problem's the coil. But, you will find that out by changing the coil (maybe ask your mom if she has any spares laying around) and seeing if the problem persists.

If it does I would recommend taking the whole set up to a vape shop (if you can) to get it looked at by someone who hopefully can help you troubleshoot.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Could try to simplify your vaping and stay away from intermediate and advanced vape setups (sub ohm under 1 ohm coils), which can present many vaping problematic unknowns to the beginner. 1.2 and 1.5 coils use low wattage which saves on batteries and e-liquid use.

I've got one more question. My vape shouldn't set off my fire alarm, right? Lmao I just need to know because my roommate was worried
It will set off a standard smoke detector since they detect small particals in the air. Might not set off a carbon monoxide detector.
