A lot of us made a gradual transition from smoking to vaping. It took five months but that worked for me in breaking a 35 year 1.5 pack a day habit.

Just don't quit vaping. You will find that you enjoy the taste of your favorite vapor more than smoke. Then you will discover that you can replace more and more of the cigarettes by vaping. The last couple of cigarettes per day take took the longest for me to give up. I got tired of having two sets of clothes: one that smelled bad from smoking and a clean set I used most of the day. Sounds pretty silly, but smoking cigarettes is a pretty silly choice to begin with. I discovered that vaping could get me by every day without smoking at all.

ive been using ego batteries w/carto tanks! my boyfriend has a katana, gg's & vmod's & i will on occasion puff from those, but i only like the ego & carto tanks for now! the juices have been from halo, ave, & alien vision. So far, bounty hunter is my favorite juice & so is tribeca! i'm still looking for a really good vanilla juice that don't taste like a cigar...

Vanilla is my favorite scent and flavor, so I'm kinda picky about it. I've tried a lot of different ones and V-spot from Kick Bass Vapors is my favorite so far. Everyone's tastes are different, but that's the one I like the best.

Just stick with it man. I didn't quit all at once, it took a couple weeks, and even then I was having the occasional cigarette. Eventually I lost my taste for tobacco completely. My body adjusted to vaping, and tobacco started to taste really nasty compared to all these juices.

Another couple of things, to stop cigs, you've got to do it for you. That's where your motivation has to come from. If it's not something you want for you, it's not going to happen. Also, change your mindset. Don't think like you're quitting smoking. Just think of it like you're switching brands. Otherwise it's all the same. You're getting your nicotine, and keeping the hand to mouth movement.

Pixie, just concentrate on finding a juice you like, commandeer a PV form your bf and vape. Vape even when you don't particularly want a cigarette. Don't wait for cravings. If you just vape a lot through the day, more than you would have smoked, you'll realize you hadn't bothered to light one up. That was the way it worked for me and I had absolutely no intention or desire to quit. All I was looking to do was cut down to 2 packs a day. But the day I got my first ecig was the last day I ever lit up a cigarette.

I think motivation is over-rated. You dont need to psychoanalyze yourself about your motives. This isn't cold-turkey quitting nicotine or some severe diet plan. Just do the mechanical parts with a juice you find enjoyable and there's really not much motivation necessary. You'll find yourself smoking less and less until, one day soon, you'll realize that the taste of a cigarette disgusts you. Vape with your hands and your mind will follow.

Just vape a lot. Later on, after the "hump", you can start tapering off and only vape when you need to. For now though, vape whether you need it or not and whether you want it or not. Vaping is like the patch in that respect. You don't take the patch on and off depending on whether you want a cigarette or not. The key is maintaining a steady nicotine level high enough so that you don't get the cravings, and keeping your hands busy so you take care of that part of the addiction.

I guess everyone's experience is different, but I was able to transition from analogs to vaping relatively painlessly on my second attempt. I tried using a e-cig kit I got from a gas station, but failed miserably at first. When I got a fairly decent PV (eGo T kit) in October of 2011, it went a lot smoother.

What I found for me was that smoking was more about rituals. I didn't smoke indoors; so, I decided not to vape indoors. My wife would go outside to smoke, and I'd go with her to vape. I didn't walk around having a vape every few minutes; I vaped when I normally would have had an analog. I found for me personally I need to trick my mind into associating the need for nicotine with vaping. Otherwise I was thinking that was a lovely vape, now I need a cigarette. After a few days of strictly vaping, I tested myself by trying to smoke an analog and it tasted awful; I couldn't do it. After a couple weeks I was able vape whenever and where ever I please; because, in my mind when I wanted nicotine I was looking for my PV not a pack of analogs.

This was my experience; so, it may be totally different for you. I wish you the best of luck.

Keep in mind it's not an all-or-nothing game. Every real smoke you avoid by vaping is that much better for you. Vaping is an alternative habit and doesn't increase risks if you do both like patches, gum,etc (assuming not going 2 fisted with one in each hand...). Do the best you can and stick with it. Most everyone has a tough time of it, but eventually the real smokes get less and less till their just a nasty memory.

One thing that got me through the really tough cravings was learning to drip. It hits hard and fast, much more like having a real smoke.
