New twisted builds - new problems

I'm still a bit of an rda semi-newbie, I recently decided to step away from my standard 24awg microcoil and try some twisted builds.

My first was a 32awg round kanthal zipper coil at 0.7 in my N22 clone. It was pretty damn awesome, and I built it from memory from a youtube video I watched about a month ago so I was pretty proud of myself.

My next build was the exact same coil mounted vertically in a Veritas clone, with the two twisted strands going outwards at the bottom to each of the negative posts. Again pretty awesome, not as much flavor as the N22 but pretty huge clouds (for me anyway).

I got thinking about some of the crazy coils I've seen like double claptons etc. and thought, anyone can invent a coil design right?? So I didn't go too crazy, but I twisted 32awg kanthal with 28awg kanthal, and then twisted the 'already twisted' wire with 24awg kanthal. Triple twisted with 3 different gauge wires. It measures 0.6ohm, and its pretty chunky with 9 wraps (it just fits in my Magma rda). There is fair bit of metal to heat up so the ramp up time is not fantastic, so I pumped it up to 62w which seemed to fix the issue, except now I'm having problems with heat building up and a hot drip tip. I've had to open both large (3mm) air holes on the magma even though its a single coil, to prevent the drip tip heating issue. It still tastes amazing and chucks a pretty good cloud, but I'm starting to think I built it in the wrong RDA. I only built it in the Magma because the other RDA already had builds that I was happy with. Is it ok to hit it with 62w @ 0.6ohm? Its the highest I've ever pushed my mod, but its a Smaug 150w running on VTC5s so I think I'm fine. It tasted better with single air holes but the drip tip was too hot. So wrong RDA? Or can I do something to improve this situation?

And did I invent a coil? Or has it got to the point where everything has already been tried now?

I'm most probably the worst person to comment on the Magma, i think it's an awful atty!! and one of the reason's is the heat that it holds on to as you've mentioned in your experiance with it, i also used it with one coil and both holes open to try keep it cooler, maybe they should have made it with the surface made into heat fin's and or extra holes in the topcap, when i was using my magma i was thinking about drilling holes in the topcap but its as thick as a bank vault.
By you going to a hotter more powerful build i think you are on the right track, i do this myself in atty's to keep them cooler, i found the lower powered builds that take forever to build up to working temp tend to produce way more heat buildup, even in the mod and battery aswell.

Your vtc5's so long as they are authentic will run your box to its Max and have room left, in a mech mod you could run a single vtc5 at 0.2ohm no problem, your box combines the voltage of the batteries to make its wattage plus it only go's to 0.3ohm so yeah you are good.

i dont think you have invented a new wire, you would be hard pushed to find something not done before, i think if you look through youtube at Agro coil or Abyss coil i think it is you will find similar.

The longer it takes a coil to heat, the more "overall" heat is being produced. Therefore, in a situation like this, I would imagine that you would want as much airflow as possible. If your tip and atty and mod are getting hot, I don't think you are have enough ventilation on your atty. those sound like some big coils. I have some "beefy" ones on my Tugboat right now on my Sigelei 100W and run that at 62W or less, anymore and it gets WAY to hot on my lips. But these coils do take a minute to heat up. I often times take a "fake" hit just to prime the coils then take another right after as my actual hit!!
