Hi all, im new to the site my name is matt and i am 33.

I had been smoking 20 a day since the age of 16 then about 2 months ago i decided to try an e-cig because i saw them for sale in the local corner shop and had also seen a magazine advert.

My first purchase was E-lites normal tobacco high strength which was ok but i used it for about a week while still smoking, it just seems something was missing from it and although a good electronic reproduction of a real cigarette it just did not quite seem right. (to big, to heavy not much throat hit)

So i did some trawling through the internet and found various company's
I looked at there products and in the end went the Rok jet black kit.
The reason i went for this one was because it was alot more realistic in size to a real cigarette and they also offered different flavor carts plus the ppc is dead sexy and it was one of the best battery's for its size.

Once i received the kit i decided i liked it and the way it vaped so i tried to go a whole day without a real cigarette!
I can happily say it has now been 2 months without a real cigarette!! and i can safely say i will never go back!

Since owning and using the Rok jet black kit i have also purchased an ego ce5 vision kit that i actually now use daily instead of the Rok kit.
when i first started using the electronic cigarettes having one that looked like a real cigarette was important to me but then i thought about it and thought what the hell, smoking real cigarettes is horrible why would i want it to look like something that is horrible and unhealthy hence why i now use the ego ce5 vision kit. (plus i like the fact it confuses people when they see me smoking it)

All in all im one happy lad, i can smoke anywhere and not have to worry about the health issues related to real cigarettes plus i can have all different types of flavors
one word win!!
Happy vaping matt.

Hi Matt

I am new to the e cig thing and Ive been doing some research on the internet...would you recommend that I start with ROK or is the eGo better? I am on 20 rollies a day (havent bought a pack o f ready made cigs for 6 weeks now) Im trying to quit smoking BUT I like smoking! Health and finance are my motivating forces so the ecig sounds a good option but I dont want to go above £10/week (Ive got £45 for the starter kit)
cheers, Kaz

Hi Kaz,

I am still fairly new to all this, but I can hopefully give you some advice!

A starter kit should be pretty easy for 45 quid, I have one I bought as a spare from vape escape, its the riva 1100 delux kit, comes with 2 batts, a charger, a clearo, some cartos and a case, I found it was a good way in (until shineyitis kicks in) and its 35 quid, which leaves a tenner for some juice (vapology do 3x20ml for about 13 quid, or 4x 10ml for 11 quid). If the juice is not counted in your starter fund I would recommend a mini nova (easy to maintain, and spare heads) for about a tenner, and sits nice on top of the riva. Its the stuff I'm using at the moment and it seems to be working pretty well.

But this stuff can be bought from china more cheaply if you dont mind waiting a while for delivery!

Of course, all of this is in my opinion only, and you may recieve better advice elsewhere! Hope it helps though :)

I started with a V1P kit from Jacvapour. If you are looking for a cig-a-like start up then it's a good set up. Make sure you get an extra battery.

It seems almost everyone goes for something a bit bigger fairly quickly though and the eGo is going to give you a longer battery life and a better idea of what is really possible.

In the end all I can suggest is read a lot and take the plunge, what works for some just does not work out for others. What you can be sure of is the perfect set up is out there somewhere.

Make a choice and go for it

And good luck
