I've been lurking / researching here for about a week and want to thank you guys for all the helpful information! I ordered a vapor king starter kit from V4L and it arrived yesterday. All I can say is, WOW, I cannot believe how realistic this is - totally exceeded my expectations!!! I plan on gradually eliminating the analogs, I've already eliminated 10 in the past 24 hours....it's a start. I've been a pack a day smoker for about 25 years and tried cold turkey (LOL), nic gum, lozengers without success and ended up smoking more after each attempt. I can totally see this being a viable way for me to finally quit (or at least cut down considerably)
I got the automatic battery but now am thinking I should get a manual so that I can re-fill the cartos...I thought I read that you cannot refill them if you have an automatic, is that right?
Will the manual give a better 'hit' ? I feel like I'm sucking my brains out to get a good hit on it, is that normal? Thanks again for all your help.

Congrats on purchasing a great kit! I prefer the manuals, but with the automatic you just have to be really careful when you refill the carto that you've wiped all the juice off the connector end before screwing it back onto the battery. Also, IMO, the manuals have an easier draw.

It won't be long and you will be off real cigs :) I found I still had a couple a day for awhile, but I am now a week on just ecigs and no analogs. Once in awhile I get a real desire for a real cig but I keep reminding myself how bad a real cig makes me feel and I head for my ecig and desire for a real cigs goes away :) I just went away on a trip and only took ecigs with me, so that was a good way to totally quit analogs.
The easiest drawing ecig I have ever tried is the G6 Halo, I have tried many other types and I agree you feel like you are sucking your brains out for a good draw! LOL I also have an automatic and no problem with filling cartos, just take them off to fill and put that rubber stopper on the bottom of carto so nothing leaks. Then I wait a few minutes and if no leaks I put back on my batt and are ready to vape.

Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping! It is so great to have a real alternative to smoking, I love ecigs! bnrk

Well first off congrats on taking the step on deciding to quit. I have also tried things like inhalers etc; but found them no good, and i agree the help on this forum is top notch, really is a great community.

Since using my 901 i havent touched an analog what so ever, first thing in the morning i do get tempted but usually over come it after an hour or so.

EDIT: Also about the sucking on it hard... i had that problem with my first ecig it was a total disaster, wasnt relaxing to use what so ever. Now though with this 901 its such an easy draw and im using an auto battery if thats anything to go by.

Definitely recommend the manual over automatic. You do get a better vape.

You can try to refill your own cartos using automatic. Never refill the carto when it's on the battery. Don't over fill. Always wipe the battery end of the carto off before putting it on the battery.

Keep the connection on your charger very clean. Wipe it with a q-tip before charging a battery.

You can refill them with autos. You jsut have to be more careful about not letting one leak onto the end of the battery. Autos are much easier to damage or kill with juice leaks. Get a manual though to see how it gives you more control of your hit etc. On the manual you can also use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer w/ a drip tip (LiteCigUSA.net has these) and if the drip tip is one of their plastic or delrin 510/901/KR808D-1 ones then you should be able to use it as a comfortable mouthpiece in place of a cartomizer endcap too (easy to remove to add juice).

--
How I fill a cartomizer (Vapor4Life for KR8 or Boge 510 for 510 which are all soft-cap w/ no inner seals and defined central air channel)

I use thin (20% or less VG) liquid or Vapor4Life WOW liquids, preferably clear liquids w/ no sediment. This soak in more easily and wick well, and the clear ones leak the stuffing as white as they found it and don't clog it up.

Filling a blank carto - I pop off the soft cap (unbent paperclip carefully in the mouth hole, not catching any wires or stuffing!). I hold some tissue against the threaded end hole. I tilt the carto and slowly drip 18 drops (per ml of carto capacity and these are 1ml cartos) onto the inner wall of the carto so it slides down into the stuffing while I rotate the carto. Then I wait 15 seconds or so then I drip however many more drops the stuffing wants to soak up. Then I do clean-up. If it is leaking, I clean that up. Then I tilt the open end down into the tissue and puff a couple of times into the threaded end to clear any juice out of the central air channel (I want to see light through there). If it looks too wet above the stuffing, I gently touch a bit of tissue to the stuffing (otherwise that liquid will be leaking or gurgling or spitting in my mouth). Then since this was a fresh fill of a blank, I now let it settle. I lay the carto on different sides for 15-20 minutes. Then it should be ready to vape. If you use thicker juices than me, then you may need to let it settle longer.

As I am vaping - if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or tastes bit off or the carto is getting unusually warm, I will take the carto off the battery, open it, add 6-8 drops or whatever it seems to want (I will either hold a bit of tissue against the threaded end hole just in case, or skimp on how many drops I add to make sure I avoid drips if I have no tissue). I check to make sure the threaded end is dry, give it a couple of puffs into the threaded end to make sure the air channel is clear, and continue to vape.

Note - it is easy for me to "open" my main cartos for adding juice because I replace the white end cap with a plastic or delrin drip tip (I get them at LiteCigUSA.net). So I can easily pull that out with my fingers when I add juice and it keeps my lips cool if the carto is hot.
