Hi,
Im new to the forum but not so new to e cigs. I had a blu e cig and did not like it so much. I am a new smoker and don't really want to get into a life long addiction that is bad for my health and does not appeal to others, but i still love the act of smoking(and some nicotine as well). I smoke about 2-4 a day when not with friends and about a half a pack when with friends. I was looking at some reviews on youtube and the halo G-6 caught my attention. I went on there website and saw they also have an e cig called the element. What are the differences? At checkout there were different battery options. Manual, Automatic, or automatic/manual. What are the differences. Thanks for all the help in advance!

The G-6 is a KR808 and the Element is a 510. These are basically different atomizer styles. They work basically the same way but feel/taste a bit differently. The 510 is considered the 'gold standard' but different strokes for different folks. The other real difference between these kits is that the G-6 is cartomizer based and the Element is not. The difference in the batteries is that an automatic battery fires when it feels you pulling air through the unit when you inhale and fires automatically. The manual battery has a button that you press when you inhale. Hope I helped a bit :)

Hi jhs,

I actually recently bought the Halo Element as my first e-cig and am using it right now. The Element is a 510 3-piece model. I am not sure about the G6...it is 2 piece (cartomizer)...maybe also a 510? Your best bet I think is to read the FAQs on this site and even on this forum. They explain things much better than I can. Be ready to do a lot of reading, as there is a real learning curve to these things. This forum is incredible and gets a lot of traffic. I suggest spending a good bit of time reading here.

I like my Element, only complaints being that it seems to leak (I understand that is common with this type of model) and the battery does not last long. But short battery life is a tradeoff for having it small and cigarette shaped. From a fellow newb, I can tell you a couple things... People are not kidding when they suggest having multiples of each piece. I started out with the starter kit--2 batteries, 2 atts, and 5 cartridges. Once I really started using it I was quick to purchase a 3rd battery and 5 more atts. Halo seems to be pushing the G6 a lot more than the element and I got some recommendations on getting a 2 piece as opposed to the 3 piece. Doing it again, I would probably spend the money on the G6 instead of the Element. Halo has been a great company to deal with.

100mah of charge is about 1 hour of moderate vaping with standard resistance atomizers or cartomizers. Slim ecigs only use standard resistance.

Manual is harder to damage or kill with liquid leaks and make it easier to get a good hit. I have no idea what automatic/manual is unless you mean the leak resistance autos (the hole is moved to the sides of the center post).

Halocigs G, SmokelessImage Volt and Bloogplanet Maxxfusion are identical except for price (I think SmokelessImage is lowest). They are rubberized, 3.6v regulated for 40mah more charge per size, manuals that seem fully sealed, but a 5-second cutoff like most KR808D-1's. The Vapor4Life aka V4L ones are more like the original non-rubberized KR808D-1, 3.7v, manuals not as well sealed, but with a custom 10-13 second cutoff allowing longer drags (which helps with manuals where you want to press the button in 1-2 seconds early so vapor is waiting when you start to drag). I recommend the standard aka 78mm manuals to make 120mm ecig. (280mah charge for V4L, 320mah charge for he rubberized models)

Element is a 510, 3.2-3.4v, less battery charge, most use blank standard resistance cartomizers with 510 and I strongly recommend manuals (510 manuals are fully sealed on the threaded end). 180mah

Slim ecigs can use standard resistance atomizers and cartomizers (about 2.5 to 3 ohms and 2.5 is the warmer end of that range). Big fat battery models and mods 450mah+ can optionally use hotter low resistance attys and cartos.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

The sealed auto batteries arnt actually completely sealed like a manual battery. It just has the air holes on the sides instead of directly in the middle. It is harder to kill them but you can def still kill them with a bad juice leak. If your planning on dripping at all I would get the manuals. Especially for just starting out, you'll be alot less likely to ruin your batt. Even refilling your cartos can occasionally have a leak which could kill an auto battery.
I'm not a big fan of the slim ecigs bc the batteries die so quickly and you can't use LR attys/cartos. A lot of people end up buying a bigger battery PV after using a slim ecig for awhile bc they want more battery life and a better PV and that's why I normally recommend for people to start with them instead and save alittle money, but I do understand why some people want their first ecig to resemble a cig. I would def get the manuals though. You'll get used to it very quickly and they really are better. You can control your vape so much more and you won't kill them if you make a newbie mistake and have a juice leak.
Goodluck!

Thank you for all your help. I looked into the smokeless image and I think I'm going to go with that one because of the price. Are the cartimizers easily refillable or would a different e cig be easier to refill. When i had my blu e-cig i didn't like how they didn't give you the option to use your own e juice.

I think you're making a great choice going with the Volt. The Volt is my third pv (started with Green Smoke and an Ego-T) and it is now pretty much the only one I use. I love it!

As for auto vs. manual, it really is a personal decision. Some prefer autos, other prefer manuals. Personally, I prefer autos (the sealed ones from Smokeless Image) because it mimics the feelng of smoking for me. Manuals don't feel like there's enough resistance, so I don't feel like i'm 'taking a drag'. Just my opinion.

Auto batteries have come a long way, and IMHO the Volt sealed auto batteries perform the same as the manual. But, if you're getting a starter kit that comes with two batteries, why not get one of each? That way you can decide what you like best, and then stock up on a couple of spares when they run a sale. It's always nice to have a couple of back ups.

Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping, and make sure you stop by the Smokeless Image Thread , Cheers!

BTW - don't forget to pick up a couple of 'bling tips' (diamond end caps) from the accessories section of the Smokeless Image site. They're super easy to put on your cig and it makes the LED shine super bright and sparkly. :vapor:

Somewhere out there
The Halo G6 is a 2 piece KR808-1 style ecig, I love it. It is light and works great for a slim ecig style. I use mine all the time. It has a warm vape, easy to use, Halo has great flavors, some of my favorites. I recommend the G6 or you can also get Volt auto sealed batts and use G6 cartos on them, that is also a great set up. bnrk
