Hello All,
I purchased the Cigotine kit from a mall over a year ago. I know, it's overpriced but I did not know any better at the time. I used it for a bit to try and stop smoking analogs but I stopped using the e-cig and was back to the old fashioned smoke.
Recently I decided to give it a shot again. I still have my cigotine kit and it works fine but I have a number of questions and honestly, there is so much information online that I tend to get lost in it all. So, I hope some people where will be willing to point me in the right direction.
On a side note, before I had purchased the kit, I spoke with my Doctor (who is affiliated with Boston University Medical Center) looking for information about e-cigs and he stated that if I were to continue using nicotine, the e-cig is by far a much saver way to do it then with an analog. He would prefer that I stop using totally but he was quite happy with the choice. He did believe that it could be used as a was to quit smoking for some people.
So, on to the questions:
1. I have been unable to find out exactly what type of battery Cigotine uses. Can I use other carts with it?
2. I have heard that the 'disposable' carts fro cigotine can be refilled. I did see a video here that showed someone refilling carts but I do not know if those carts are designed to be refilled. If they can be refilled the next question is...How? I have seen there people put drops in one end or use the condom with about 15 drops in it and push the mouth end of the cart into the condom until a little bit of juice comes out of the top.
3. juice. Many many questions. My main question is about safety. If I have a bottle of juice with 1.2 or 1.6 nicotine, how save is it if I get a little on my skin? What is the likelyhood of some of the joice geting into my mouth either by the dripping method or from a refilled cart? Would it make me ill or kill me?
4. I am thinking of getting the 501 in a few months. For those who are familiar with Cigotine, is the 501 better? I do not like the draw nor the time it takes for the temp to get up to speed and the 501 comes with an automatic and manual battery.

I don't know anyone in the area what vaps so I have to get my information from the Internet and just try it out myself. If there is anyone in the Boston area that might be able to help me, let me know and I'll send info.

I have more questions but I think this is enough. I don't want to bother too many people all at once. My plan is to get off of the nicotine but still vap at times. I enjoy the actions of smoking, though it was much more fun in the days when one was allowed to smoke in public.

Thank You for all your help.

I'm not familiar with this brand either

Most carts can be refilled. The method of refilling will depend on the type your unit used. With cartridges you can usually refill just by dripping juice onto the filler. If your e-cig uses a cartomizer you may be able to use the condom method. I actually prefer dripping into the top of a cartomizer onto the filler material, but your opinion may vary.

I have never had a problem when I've gotten juice onto my skin. I simply wash it off. The nicotine in the juices are diluted so it's no real health issue. I did occasional get a little numbness on my lip if I accidentally got a little juice in my mouth. This was more of an annoyance than anything else.

510 models are pretty reliable. What I like about them is the many options that are available with them. I have used the Joye 510. My biggest complaint about them is a short battery life. I upgraded to the Joye eGo which is a 510 model with a larger battery. This worked very well for me.

Welcome to ecf! I hope you find the information you need. For me, I believe vaping has truly been a life saver. I would have never thought I could quit smoking. I started vaping just to save money since cigarettes are getting outrageously expensive. I'm still working on the saving money part of it, but I shocked myself when I found I had eliminated the expense of cigarettes from my budget completely. Now that I'm fully stocked, I believe I will start seeing bigger financial savings. What I have found already is better health.

Hi aewolfe,
Welcome to the forum and congrats on giving another shot at getting away from the analogs(tobacco cigs).
Let me try to address your questions;
1)Could be a PR110. Regardless, this company is overpriced and I suspect that is why you want to find a different supplier for batteries & carts. I'd have to spend some more time researching this brand to tell you what it's common nomenclature is.
I'm not trying to "cop out", but if I were you, I would look to buy a Joye 510 or kr808D-1($30-$50) for a starter kit, if you could afford to do so.
2)Unfortunately, being unfamiliar with the cigotine product, I can't really tell you how to refill the cart.
Yes, there is the condom method, or this method may work better for you: YouTube - How to fill a cartomizer - (soft top)
3)1.2 & 1.6 nicotine is another way of expressing 12mg or 16mg nicotine strength. Although you should avoid conact to the skin, a small amount will probably not cause you to become ill or suffer any unhappy side affects. I vape 18-24mg nicotine juice and have exposed my skin to very small amounts(1-2 drops) and have not noticed any effects. Understand though, each person has a different tolerance to nicotine. Best to avoid exposure to the skin, lips, eyes, etc.
4)I personally am not familiar with the cigotine product, but I vape with a kr808D-1 and am very pleased. I know the majority of the forum members who use the 510, are also pleased with the performance of that device.

I recommend reading all six parts of this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ping-illustrated-guide-e-cigs-part-1-6-a.html
and this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...st-electronic-cigarette-first-time-vaper.html
Also, there are a lot of good vids on YouTube to watch. many of which were made by ECF members. A six part series by Mistressnomad is very good. Find them here: YouTube - E-CIGS FOR BROKE PEOPLE! Part 1 - What kit do I get?

Hope I was of help to you. Good luck with your future vaping endeavors!
