Hello fellow vapers. I recently quit analogs completely and picked up one of these at a local retailer:

Cartridges CS-63/CS-64/New CS66

I understand that "510", etc refer to the threading. But I have no way to tell if this is a 300, 510 or what. Also, the cartridges are different than what most people seem to have. Instead of polyfill. inside the yellow "filters" (carts) are very very tiny plastic containers that are sealed on top with foil. When installing them, the atty bridge stabs through the foil and wicks the juce. However they only hold a couple of drops and are generally a pain to refill. If they have any polyfill in them, it is only a few shreds. Does anyone have suggestions for appropriate cart mods for this type? I can snap a picture of the tiny plastic inserts if it would help. Any help identifying compatible parts/ cartomizers OR suggestions for mods would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for you, but honestly, I think we are going to need one of the HARDcore guru's for this one. Just a quick looksie at it from me show's it's NOT a 510 but that's about the best I personally can tell you.

On a side note, welcome :0) to the wonderful world of "vapeing"!! It's a world that is weird, crazy, tasty (sometimes good sometimes bad!) infuriating and fun! Welcome to the ECF forums!!!

Again, I expect one of the hardcore guru's will be along directly. Just wanted you to know we ARE watching and you are NOT alone!

What you bought looks like a cheap Chinese ecig called EHealth and something similar is sold as M402 and M403 (I recognize the small enameled atomizer and at that short length it is not M401). You could try M401 cartridges on it. I started on M402 and M401 (manuals since I understood the benefits). The carts are a pain to fill. You hold the cart and stick a small unbent paperclip in the mouth-hole. That pushes up the tiny juice cup. You add liquid, make sure the cotton is positioned at the top edge, then try to get the little cup back down in the mouthpiece without pressing on the stuffing (i.e. do not use the atomizer to press it down. You can try to press the paperclip end between the inner wall and the edge of the juice cup to get ti down. Or if you have a plug from an M401 cart you can use that. When the stuffing gets all crappy, cut a blue foam plug for it (search Youtube M401 blue foam but cut it a bit longer and a tiny bit wider - just enough to stay in place, not enough to squish the foam holes closed). I used to cut them from the larger pieces strictlyejuice.com sells for 510 (search there for foam - under $1 for 10 pieces).

I used my M402 and M401 for about 3 weeks and then started looking for something else.

And if you do buy a 510, buy real Joye brand and I STRONGLY recommend manual batteries.

-----

re 510 (which is not what you bought)

3-piece setup
battery + atomizer + cartridge (aka cart)
A cartridge is just plastic and stuffing that holds juice. The atomizer is the heating part
Some clone brand are cheap and instead of using a standard atomizer and cartridges with silicone plugs, they use a modified pointy atomizer and foil covered carts and hope the user will never figure out how to refill them.
And re atomizers, a slim 510 should only use standard resistance atomizers, (around 2.5 to 3 ohms, nothing called LR or low resistance)
510 battery + 510 standard resistance atomizer + 510 cartridges (least popular way to vape but Ok for learning)

2-piece setup
battery + cartomizer
A cartomizer is a disposable 1-piece cart with internal atomizer
The most popular cartomizers for 510 are Boge and 510 uses standard resistance. There are other kinds of cartomizers too including reservoir ones that need a syringe to fill.
510 battery + 510 standard resistance cartomizer

yeah that skinny waist w/ male thread, the diameter is about the same as a Marlboro? eHealth and M402/M403. The last digit is the battery size. 403 being the smallest and shortest life and 401 being the longest. They seem to also have 3 battery sizes. but they probably don't offer the manuals which are a bit safer from being damaged or killed by juice leaks (but can still be damaged/killed since that model's manuals still have an open hole in the threaded end)

The benefits of that model are only nice looking and good flavor with that low voltage. I still fire mine up occasionally for a sweet delicate juice. Downside - very short battery life, tiny pain-in-the-a carts, lack of options. I am still using my first cart, stuffed with blue foam. It's on its second or 3rd blue foam plug. But I rarely use it any more.

Hi and welcome to the ECF. I'm new here too and started out w/ an unidentifiable brand pv. Just got my Riva 510 today, awesome.. simply awesome.

From what I've read in my short time here, many get started and then reallize quickly that there are much better products out there for less $$. Huge difference in how satisfying the experience is. It will definately keep me off the analogs.

Everybody here will give you tips and great advice on reputable places to buy.
