Good morning Team,
I am not sure if this is the right place for but I am looking for expert advise. I have been a smoker for 20 years, currently smoking rolling Tabacco, roughly 40 thick rollies a day. It’s finally time to kick the habit, I live in Australia and a package of tabacco now cost $115. I want to make the switch but I have no idea what product is most suitable for me. Nicotine additives for vapours are not for sale in Australia but can be imported. What product would be best? I would like to recreate the taste of combusting tabaco as much as possible. Any ideas and suggestions would be appreciated. Cost of product is no issue and I would rather spend top dollar for a reliable product that enables me to mix own strength. Also not fussed about the size of the product. Cheers guys

Welcome to ECF. I'm a kiwi, so here's some sites that ship to Oz.

It's may be cheaper for you if you buy short-fills in Oz and add in your own nic base. Otherwise, I've listed some NZ ejuice sites.

Regarding the crappy prescription law you have to contend with, this page explains it:
    https://www.mixologyvape.co.nz/nicotine-import-information-for-australian-customers/

    Nic base:
    https://www.mixologyvape.co.nz/product-category/diy-mixing-equipment/unflavourednic/ Use coupon code: VAPR20

    https://www.vapoureyes.co.nz/products/100mg-flavourless-nicotine
Their info of importing nic base is at the bottom of this page:
    https://www.vapoureyes.co.nz/pages/frequently-asked-questions

ejuice with nic base already added:
    https://www.mixologyvape.co.nz/product-category/e-liquid-brands/ Use coupon code: VAPR20

    https://www.longwhitevapour.co.nz/
Free shipping to Oz over $80

I would focus on not ''recreating'' the taste of combusting tabaco, just make sure to meet your nicotine requirements.
When new vapers start that is a common mistake, they either use low nicotine which will make you crave cigarettes like crazy or use very high nicotine which will make you Dizzy or woozy or give you some nausea.

Love it - you guys have the wrong idea about Australia

I say we blame this guy for that:

I remember myself saying i dont want sweet flavours and making fun of people vaping deserts cause those are to be eaten and not vaped....now.thp i end up loving then and i vape fruits and deserts most of the time lol.....

The closest for me to smoking cigarettes in terms of juice is vaping natural extracred tobacco juices...the only difference is that u dont get the taste of burned paper and all the horrible taste of combustion of cigarettes soooooo for me vaping natural extracted tobacco juices or nets for short was even better than smoking when i started vaping...

You have to be open minded tho and be willing to try things cause u may end up like them...

As long as there is enough nicotine in our juices then there is no excuse to crave smoking cigs and its all in our head...thats how i saw it and paired with the right amount of nicotine it eas very easy to stop smoking totally from day one..

I was also smoking rolling tobacco litterally with a cig in my hand or mouth all the time besides sleeping cause i havent figured out to skoke while sleep :D gl and be patient if at first feels wierd cause smoking have many chemicals that u detox when u quit it

I'll second those who've said that trying to recreate the taste of smoking is not the best way to go. It's common to want that in the beginning (it's certainly what I was looking for when I started), but it's not really doable. I'd say that vaping tobacco flavours tastes like tobacco smells.

I recommend starting out with a lot of variety - and small bottles. Get a few bottles of tobacco flavours, as well as some other flavours that appeal to you. It's also helpful to know that the same flavour in different brands can taste totally different - one strawberry, for instance, might taste like candy while another tastes more like the fruit and a third reminds you of strawberry jam. It often takes a lot of experimentation to find the flavours that work for you.

I'll say. We all are cursed to live in "interesting times" these days, none more interesting than in Australia. You have my prayers and my tears. I hope we will all make it through with some enjoyment of our lives.

Welcome to the forum, Johannes Brockhaus. Good luck getting off the rollies. I believe you can do it. For many, it takes some time of dual use, both smoking and vaping, until you get used to vaping, find the equipment and liquids you like best, figure out how to travel with your supplies, get it all down and be ready to put the rollies firmly in your past.

I would like to recreate the taste of combusting tabaco as much as possible.

Many vapers started there, wanting something that tastes just like cigarettes. I don't think any liquid tastes just like a cigarette, but I did find that liquids called "pipe" and "cigar" flavors were closer to it than things like RY4 and cowboy tobacco. There is some magic DIY flavor blend out there yet to come, I'm sure. Things I remember are that a fresh pack of cigarettes, not yet lit, smells kind of like raisins and brandy. The inhaled lit cigarette has a hint of licorice or anise in the tar.

The closest I found I could come to cigarette flavors, other than pipe and cigar flavors, was with intuitive mixing of ready-mades, like coumarin pipe with Earl Gray tea, or cigar with brandy, or Thai tea with cowboy tobacco. Since you have mentioned your budget allows it, you can get 10 ml. bottles of liquids to play around with, and be a flavor artist.

But I agree with those who have posted here that you should keep an open mind, try a variety of flavor types including fruit, dessert, candy, spice, mint, nut, beverage, herb, and of course the tobacco approximations. Vaping replaces the cigarette desire, but is a different experience, with different potentials. You may be surprised by what you like. I ended up with clove as my all day forever vape after somersaulting through a wide range of flavors over the first couple of years. There were very few total failures that couldn't be ameliorated by blending them with something else to avoid throwing away money.

+1 on the Clove... It's one of the easiest to get the taste of (think Djarum Black) - I'm actually vaping up some I made right now.. Another easy one is Menthol... Getting a Marlboro Light is a different story but some have came extremely close in DIY, I think you don't see many commercial juices out that meet this is because they don't really sell and they frankly taste disgusting (like a cigarette).

Resist the urge to try cheddar and hot dog flavors. It may sound funny, but believe me, it's not.
Worcestershire sauce was the only flavor I ever tasted, threw away the 10 ml. bottle, and threw away the tank (I was still using plastic clearomizers at that time). There was no way to redeem it.
