Hey everyone! Today is my first full day with out an analog! I just got the Mig Cig 21 starter kit in the mail today! Came a day late, and I ran out of my last pack of cigs early yesterday morning, so it has been a rough wait! But I love this Mig Cig! I've done my fair share of research and I can't wait to start collecting all sorts or tanks, egos, mods, etc! But I think this little Mig Cig will really help these first few weeks without analogs! About a year ago I quit cigarettes for about 3 months using the Blu. If those things weren't so crappy, I would have probably never picked up a cigarette again. I'm also a lot more excited this time about getting into the vaping world, so hopefully my excitement paired with a nice starting ecig will get me off the nasties for good!

So on to my question about eliquid...

I got gummy bear and tigers blood from the local B&M. 50/50 with 11mg. So far I have only tried the gummy bear. Great flavor! But the only thing lacking is more of a throat hit. I love a good throat hit so it is kind of an issue for me. What flavors or other factors would produce a better throat hit?

Thanks in advance!

I wasn't familiar with the Mig Cig, so I looked it up... did you get the Clear Fusion tank or the Clear Fusion Max tank?
According to their website, the Max will give more throat hit at the expense of shorter battery life (I'm guessing that it is a lower resistance coil in the Max)
Changing the liquid will likely not give you much difference in throat hit... though if you go with a higher PG% juice it will be a bit better (depending on what the ratios are in the juice you are currently using)
Also, increasing the nic level may give you a more noticeable throat hit...

Yeah, that's the difference... I just found the info on the attys... the Fusion is a 2.5 ohm ... the Max is a 1.8 ohm
Not sure what you heard bad about the Max, but if you're looking for more throat hit, that is your answer for the rig that you are currently running... It's hard to get a lot of throat hit out of a standard 510 battery...

hello Clean Clouds, welcome to the mighty ECF

didn't say how long and what you smoked
but 11mg sounds a little low to start off with (for most)

probably get a little more kick with 18-24mg nic

might also be your set up is a little low powered...

I have been smoking for 7ish years. I think the nicotine may be the problem. The guy recommended 11, so I just went with it. I don't see why it would be a power problem because I have recently been using the Blu and Green Smoke disposables, and both had more of a satisfying throat hit. But don't those come with higher nicotine and pg levels?

The previous recommendations are right. Higher PG and higher nic content produces more throat hit and flavor. Higher VG produces more vapor, but has a tendency to mute the flavors somewhat. Not sure how much you can expect to get from your setup, but try adjusting your juices until you find that TH you like. Oh, and welcome to the forum, fellow Texan!

Mostly, "throat hit" is nicotine. 11mg may be a tad low. Try an 18mg, see if that's more to your liking. But try not to move up too fast all at once. Going too high too fast can be unpleasant. "Nudge" it up.

Also, many say PG produces better throat hit. I use 50/50 but I'm not big on TH. Even as a smoker, I liked "smooth". You could try a 60/40 blend or 70/30. See if that suits you better.

If your B&M does sampling (most all do), go experiment a bit. TH is less flavor and more about the nic level and PG level. VG "mutes" things a bit but is good at vapor production which I prefer over TH myself.

So try some variations of the flavor you know you like, see what works for you.

Dunno Green Smoke but Blu uses Johnson Creek who is best known for VG heavy juices. Blu disposables, though, are around 20 or so mg/ml nic while their cartos are 13 to 16mg.

So I'd say you're probably going to prefer something in the 18mg area based on liking Blu's TH...

I would bump up the nic level to start, 18 mg / ml is what I initially used to quit smoking (at 12 mg now and loving it!). Mig puts out a great product, although I admit I prefer their SR72 1300 mAh twist style battery over the Mig21 setup. Another nice thing about the SR72 is the 510 connection - if you stick an Aspire Mini Nautilus on there it gives fantastic performance. However, that's beside the point - with your current setup higher nic and higher pg in the mix (assuming you can handle high pg) should help quite a bit.

Welcome and happy vaping!

it is because of repetition, again, & again, & again new vapor's fall prey to the
cig-a-like , look alike, and think at first it is cool and works good, only to find out
after much money, effort and time consumed with said cig-a-like, that it is insufficient...

I answered many a posts of people trying to get it right after buying such
and finally, it happened to me - I did the same thing...

some people, perhaps light smokers, use the cig-a-likes and are just fine with
that level of vaping...

but like I said, over & over the question is asked, "Why ?"

good luck, hope it all works out for ya

Well I can answer the "why" for me. Because I just wouldn't really feel comfortable out and about with something that attracts too much attention. And it is really slim comfortable in my hand. It came with two batteries which was important to me. My father has been using the iTaste vv 3.0, and I was about to get it myself. But he has been having battery longevity issues with his, which is what I wanted to avoid by getting the two battery starter kit from Mig. Also I know a few people that have all sorts of mods and eGos but still love their Mig Cig.

So anyways this is just something I wanted to start out with the first couple of weeks. I have been planning to start out with a cig-a-like and then get a MVP for at home and car use.

But thanks for the support!

cool, that sounds great, as long as you know what you're getting
the site I looked at, $69 is all I seen along with the 380mah stick batteries

so you sound like you got a plan and that's cool !

just wanna see you have the best experience (and NOT smoke)

best wishes

:)

That can work fine. Many do the thing of a "stick" style for being out and about but a more advanced unit at home.

I know nothing of Mig myself but it could fit your needs fine. On the other hand, when I looked them up, the battery seems on par with the VV V3. Unless I'm missing something.

By the way, there are, also, "pass throughs" that can run off a USB port if one is handy and battery when not. Something to keep in mind if you later go looking for better battery life maybe.

I know it was touched on briefly, but higher po will give you a small increase in throat hit, and thin out the juice, good to keep in mind for wicking and leaking issues, but the easiest quickest way to increase th is to up your nicotine level. I'm surprised you started at 11 honestly. When I started, I started at 24, and worked my way down. Not for everyone, but I think it's a big part of what you're after. You'll go through less juice probably that way too.

Well what I was more getting at was that I can use one while the other is charging. The pass through is nice, but a lot of times I'm no where near an outlet. I'm always on the go because of my job always on my feet far from any outlets. Having an already charged battery to just switch out at any moments notice fits my lifestyle more.

But yeah, those kinds of features are a lot more fitting when I'm at home or in the car and not at work, which is why I am excited to get the MVP in a couple of weeks!
