New vaper, bought flavored e-liquids and hate them

So I started off about two weeks ago, i bought an american steel brand disposable (menthol), now that helped me not smoke analogs for about 5 hours til it died, so when my next pay check came i bought the bigger ego style with a clearo and some 24mg nic juice all made by a brand called criss cross, i cannot find their products anywhere online. So i highly enjoyed this and have no quit smoking for 6 days on it, today my mini vivi nova with 1.8 ohm heads came from myfreedomsmokes and some e-juices from ecblend (dragons blood w/cool hit, vanilla, strawberry, free sample of dragons tears) So i filled the mini vivi with dragons blood, purged it and waited a few minutes, then i vaped it expecting a juicy taste in my mouth, but ew i couldnt stand it, i actually vomited from it. so i thought maybe it was just the cool hit added to it, i rinsed the vivi out and switched the atomizer head, filled it with some strawberry, now thats not so bad but still not the "juicy" taste i was expecting. could this be my cheap batteries not producing enough to burn it right or is it just me expecting too much? for now i am back to the criss cross brand menthol at $10/15ml

Several of the tobacco flavors I've tried do remind me more of cig tobacco. I've really come to enjoy Tribeca from Halo, as well as a couple of other tobacco fkavors they carry. They actually have a sampler with six different tobacco flavors, and a couple of different menthols I like also. They are the first online company I've tried, but based on reviews I am going to order some from Mt Baker Vapor and give them a shot.

You aren't going to find much that tastes like a cigarette. Hard to replicate burning toxins and ash. :vapor:

As far as "juicy" tasting... vapor isn't really juicy. There are some flavors that can have that impression, but it isn't a characteristic of vaping in general.

Don't give up on those liquids completely, set them aside and try them again in a few weeks. Maybe your tastebuds will adapt, maybe the flavors will mature. But you will learn not to ditch juice too hastily.

Fruits might not be your thing. Sometimes we don't know what our thing is until we try a few different things. But you know that the menthol is working for you right now, it is easy to find menthol juices at many vendors. You don't have to pay $10/15ml.

I just got a bottle of a pretty good minty menthol from AltCig, first time I've ordered from them but they are having a coupon sale that was too good to pass up. If you spend 20 bucks you get 15% off and a free 30ml bottle. Try Hans' ADV as your free 30...that's the menthol/minty one. If you want 'juicy' try their Southern Sweet Tea with a splash of Peach. I tore through my first bottle and just ordered more. Also, you can get menthol drops to add to other juices (I like a little menthol in my teas and fruits).

Hang in there, and good luck finding something that hits the spot.

Sounds like the juice you are using. I wouldnt look to the batts as the problem at all from what you are describing you purchased.
It takes time, sometimes, to find what you like. There are a trillion juices out there to try.. I would suggest trying the smallest bottles of juice til you find what you like. Like Tribeca from halo is a good one. Dont think they have small bottles but not sure. They are lind of on the higher side pricing wise. There are many not so expensive juices.

You will not find anything that is going to mimick cigarette smoke. Once you establish that you will be half way there.

I dont care for the fruits, Thats just me. I thought I would years ago when I fist started vaping. Didnt like any of the 30 or more bottles i placed on my initial order. Threw all of them away after about a year of holding onto them. They were terrible. Artificial tasting cra^p

I have always stayed with variations of tobaccos.. RY4s, Etc.
Hangsen makes a pretty good tobacco called tab .
avejuice.com when they are open. Blend4, Havana gold, Bobas Bounty, 555.
goodlifevapor has el Kamino which is pretty good.
ikenvape.com RY4 (think you might really like it)
Janty RY4 Elixir VG eLiquid RY4 15ml

I now make my own juice most of the time but still buy some juices.. Good luck in your search.
PS> juice will make or break your experience.. Keep looking youll find what you like..

Hello Jake, it took me months and a lot of funds to find a juice that suited me. You may want to try boba's bounty from Alien Visions if they ever open their site. You can buy menthol to add to any juice.

I've tried ECblends juice in the past and in my opinion it's awful! It's a very cheap juice and it tastes that way too. Do you have a vape shop anywhere near you? There are 3 new shops here in San Jose and all 3 of them have a tasting station. This helps in finding a juice you like without wasting cash.

Good luck in the hunt!

Hi Jake. Welcome to the ECF. So on your quest to locate that one or two flavors that are good for you, one thing is nearly certain...... You will not likely find it right away. In addition to this, there are different nuances that one person may like and you do not like. So in short, visit the liquid-specific section here > General E-Liquid Discussion and cruise around to see what sounds like something you may like. Try to get a smaller size selection of liquid until you find one or some that hit that note for you, then order those that fit your needs at that point in larger amounts. There are many, many great vendors who make wonderful liquids that are less than the current price you are paying.

If you have the ability to do so, I would advise you to get yourself a standard 510 atomizer > Spare Atomizer for Joye 510 or eGo and a simple drip tip specifically for testing new flavors. This would benefit you(and most any Vaper) by allowing you to try out a few drops without having to load up a tank and waste a whole tank full, and the time to clean the tank, if you do not like the liquid. This will also give you the best first impression of that liquid being tried and really no fuss if you don't like it, just blow out the unused liquid, rinse and blow out to dry then try the next favor. There are some folks who still use the drip method for their all day vaping because of the performance benefits.

On your Vivi with the eGo type batteries, you may want to use the coil heads that are labeled closer to 2Ω(1.8Ω/2.2Ω) for a good robust vapor, these heads vary so wildly in actual resistance that these resistances would be better matched to most persons preferences.

Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

I do not know of any shops near me just a tobacco outlet that sells menthol and regular in 18mg and 24mg....its not that im looking for a tobacco flavor, id rather get furthest away from them as possible, just these flavors really didnt do it for me, im hoping its not like chewing tobacco where every brand and flavor all have the same distinct taste or smell to me

New York has a few shops listed as storefronts > Electric Cigarette | Eliquid | Supplies | Electronic Cigarette | Ejuice | Vapor Search USA just click the state and see if there are any within reasonable distance for you.....

Ive only been at it a month and ill warn you now, dont look for the cigarette flavor. Nothing comes close to it.

Mister E liquids have some great tobacco based eliquids. Fruits at the moment taste like crap to me. Assuming ill get my taste buds back eventually and might try some. He has Grey Matter(dont do menthol), Ry4(my ADV) and Menilla Joe(taste like a white tic tac) that got me hooked.

I will suggest trying out RY4. Its a reason its a favorite amoung alot of users(not just mister E). Its a really nice combo of tobacco and caramel and vanilla.

Ive have a safe deposit box full of 5ml bottles that I cant stand. I feel your pain.

For me all top coil devices (vivis) give a harsher hotter vape, bottom coils (protanks, EVOD) are cooler and "Juicier". Plus as your taste buds recover, your tastes might change. When I first started I couldn't stand anything with a creamy after taste (coffee, most tobaccos, baked goods, etc) I preferred tart citric juices. Now as my little tongue buddies are making a comeback I have done a complete 180 and prefer to vape darker sweeter juices. Give it some time, you had years to damage your self, it's going to take some time to recover. Welcome and enjoy your freedom!
Oh yeah and drink lots of water! Nic dehydrates, vaping dehydrates, water helps detox ya. Some of the best advice I got on here was to "Drink Water!"

Jake, I had the same problem As you when I started out. I didn't want fruit, or candy or something that tasted like unburned pipe tobacco laced with potpourri and sprayed with perfume. I wanted something bland, like a Marlboro light.

I found it in unflavored nic base - 24mg strength in 30% VG / 70% VG. I get it from wizard labs and my freedom smokes.

It's all I vape.

I won't recommend a particular flavor or vendor - but just chime in on 2 key points:

1) Finding a juice you like is a project. Maybe an ongoing hobby. If you can look at it like that, super! I got lucky and found a flavor I liked right away - then it got discontinued and I've been ordering all KINDS of juices to try out.

2) The whole problem might be the steeping thing. I got several juices that were NASTY when delivered, but a week later, they were totally fine. I mean, they went from a flavor that tasted like "licking a chemical perfume" to being a nice, mellow pleasant vape. So let 'em sit, and try them again!

Good luck, and patience!

I too have a hard time with fruits. Only been smoke free for 2 weeks now. I would echo what others mentioned about maybe trying tobacco flavors first moving into maybe slightly sweeter tastes. I have heard good things about Copper Creek House Blend. I myself am ordering it due to the overwhelming reviews (98) on their site.

I will say some of the juices I first bought that disgusted me two weeks ago are starting to grow on me.

Hope this helps.
