New vaper looking for help with upgrade

Hey everyone noob here from Scotland, been vaping a few weeks now and keen to upgrade. The kit I have at the mo is an ego ce4 clone I believe. I would like to spend around £60 and get into variable voltage. I can't decide if I should go for an ego twist, vision spinner or spend a bit more and get a vamo? Also heard good things about the ve riva kit? Anybody help me decide? Also what kinda clearomiser/tanks should I be trying?

I dont know all that much about spinners and twists, but lots of people use them and say they work well so you could go down that route. Personally, i would i would spend that bit extra and get a vamo or something like it. The Vamo VE is on the first link at £45 then you could get yourself something like a kanger protank or a vivi nova tank (i've got both and they both work well, with replaceable heads) - the protank is a cooler vape with a more airy draw to it and the wicks on the bottom. The vivi nova is a tighter draw and warmer (wick is on the top and hangs down) than the protank so would depend on what you like. Remember with the vamo though by the time you have bought the tank you will be at your £60 and need to spend another £25+ on batteries and a charger.

The 2nd link is to an innokin itasteV3 - another VV device but includes your clearos and battery / charger for £53. There are loads of options out there and everyone will more than likely recommend different things, then there is also the option of fast tech (a chinese supplier, which are much much cheaper but you will have to wait a while for your stuff - at least 2 weeks but probably more)

Someone else may be able to shed more light on the differences. The only thing i noticed is that the more expensive version has various protection from things that can go wrong with your batteries whilst in the device (short circuits, etc). The cheaper version may have this too - i just couldnt see it mentioned anywhere.

If you do go for one of these devices then remember to be safe with your batteries too, so when they arent in the device store them in a plastic case or at least dont wander around with them in your pocket or anything with zips on either (keep away from metal), dont leave them anywhere they could get too hot like in a car and when you charge them try not to leave them unattended for too long (if at all) & dont overcharge them or let them get run down to too low a level.

I have that earlier (& cheaper) version of the Vamo - it's brilliant! However, it doesn't have the removable top cap, which allows the use of Ego skirted clearomisers without restricting the airflow. Both versions of the Vamo are a tad on the large size in 18650 mode.

I also have an ego Twist & a Vision Spinner - again both are really good especially for out & about. I prefer the spinner between the 2 of them as the dial is so much easier to see & use than the one on the Twist.

As for the VE Riva kit - again an excellent kit & the Riva batteries seem to go on for ever. My next door neighbours bought their kits over 18 months ago & the batteries are still recharging & working well. However, the Riva isn't variable Voltage.

I just got the Vamo V5 and it seems like it addressed some of the issues in the earlier models but I haven't had it long enough to really know for sure. For the price, I think the Vamo is a very good option. If you want something around the same size as the ego but is VW and has a much better switch, then I would look at the iTaste V3. I don't know where to get either of these in the UK but here is a supplier of both:

I'll just add that although a lot of people dont like them i love my evic. It cost me £70 in a sale and it came with a battery, an atomiser, 5 cartridges, the charging lead for laptop / mains & 10ml of eliquid.

To buy those extras you are probably looking at;

Battery - £10
Atomiser - £8
Cartridges - £5
liquid - £3
and if your device needs a seperate charger then at least another £10

In effect this brings the price of the evic itself down to the price of the cheaper vamo.

All in all, I'm very happy with my evic, even though i bought it before i knew very much about the variety of options out there. You can also plug them into your laptop to do various things with it including looking at stats on your vaping history, and setting it up to restrict how many puffs you are allowed in a day, etc (i havent plugged mine into the laptop yet, although i keep meaning to)

Thanks guys for all your suggestions, after looking at all the options I decided to go for the new vamo as I really think I will make good use of the vv/vw,. I have purchased a vivi nova tank to go along with it. If I wanted to have a go at dripping what kind of tank and mouthpiece would I need? I like to swap juices quite often so dripping seems the best option to keep that going?

You have made a good choice with the new Vamo IMHO

I've only ever used old style atomisers for dripping but at a recent vape meet one of the members of AAE-C UK had a brilliant tank type dripper but I can't remember which one it was. he isn't a member here but I'll give him a shout over on AAEC.

just a warning. when first using the vamo or any other VV/ VW device.... do not think it's going to "work better" if you crank the voltage or watts way up to lets say... 15 watts? lol ..... it will taste like burnt cat hair. start low.... then work your way up and see where you end up. I typically vape 90-100% VG liquids at 8 watts or so. just advice is all!

learned about 5 min after getting my Vamo v2 in the mail last year lol.

but YES to answer your question, skip everything else and just get a vamo. eventually you might be interested in rebuilding/ mechanical mod type stuff if youre in this for the long haul

We'll I got my vamo yesterday so have not put it down since, excellent build quality and battery life is amazing. Now I need to find a juice that I can puff on every day. I can't seem to find one that I would call my all day juice.
