Hi all,

New user/New vaper...

I have a VIP Photon tank on a 1100mah batery with a bottom coil (1.8ohm).

I'm basically looking for a set of 5or10 CLEAR clearomizers as the one that came with my kit is stainless steel with a small glass window and it is hard to see where your level of liquid is up to.

I ordered " 5 x clear translucent new and improved clearomiszers" from a store named "Nucig" on Amazon but unfortunately they are not what I was after.

I thought they would just be clearomizers which I would put my own coils on to (ordered a few packs of 1.8 coils also which are fine) but they have wicks built in and I cannot unscrew them when they pop, thus rendering the full clearomizer useless.

So my question is this...

Q) Can anybody recommend/link me to a pack of 5or10 CLEAR clearomisers which do not have built in atomizer so I can keep them for the long run and then just swap my coils as out and when. They must be bottom coils and not have a wick - I think the term may be CE5 - which doesn't have a wick hanging out it is more of a built in thing inside the coil that sits below the tank and above the battery.

I hope this had made sense and sorry for the essay, as I say I am a new vaper and it is an absolute minefield tying to get my setup correct.

Thank you in advance for you're help.

Looking at their site, the coils for your clearo don't appear to be one of the universal style coils. It's entirely possible that the coils you have are for that specific clearomizer only and attempting to use them in anything else will not work.

As you're using a standard eGo style battery, I'd recommend that you get a different tank for it that has coils that can be found easily. A lot of folks swear by the Aspire Nautilus Mini, and they'll work splendidly on your battery.

If you have a local vape shop you can visit I would take your battery & coils up there and see if they sell a clearomizer that can use them. If they do, buy one, and then order multiples online.

Be aware, that when using a plastic clearomizer there are juices that can "crack/etch/fog" them over time rendering them useless. Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

Welcome :)

OK - This sounds do-able.

We need to work out the "thread" on your VIP Photon. It definitely has an "eGo" thread (on the outside) and should have a "510" thread on the inside too, but I've not seen one of these for years.

I suspect the nucig are some sort of skirted 510 fitting, they look like they attach with the outer thread, but actually they don't... they use the 510 but have a skirt of metal/plastic to look tidy...

Can you see any thread inside the connection part?

If you have a genuine eGo thread battery and want a nice clear tank, then I'd recommend the Kanger mini Protank (version 1 or 2) and something called SOCC coils OR the Kanger T3S with the TOCC coils.

http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/Advance...wizid=k3mt3098e252d8j48oq2iv35n1&keyword=TOCC

SOCC for Protank 1 or 2.
TOCC for MT3, T3S,
VOCC for Protank 3 or Aerotank.

These are the best coils and Vape Escape are closing down, so grab a bargain. :)

- - -

PS VIP are shocking ... I'm guessing you've worked this out.

PS. The e-cig scene in the UK is well dodgy. The shops (supermarkets) sell junk for crazy money. Branded e-cigs should be avoided at all costs (VIP, Vapouriz, Apollo, 10 Motives, Cirro, JacVapour, Vapestick)

- the best places to buy are online independent vaping shops -

Vape Escape WAS the best, but they are closing down - thanks to the impending law that is coming next year. They're quitting before the lockdown.

Try MYEPACK for most equipment. Kingz of Vapour are cheap for mods.
Cloud 9 will remain as the top UK store now Vape Escape are finished.
Avoid UKecigstore.

Thank you all very much for your input and i have taken many things from the replies so thanks.

I have just ordered a couple of Kanger Mini Pro Tanks so I will let you know how I get on with them.

My battery is an ego and one im pretty sure its of the 510 style.

I will be looking in the near future for a VV battery to use as a main and use my current 3.2-3.7v standard as a back up. Any suggestions on which to go for?

I'm already beginning to regret paying 43.00 quid for the VIP Photon as i'm already looking to upgrade, but it was on a whim and I haven't smoked a proper cig for 7 days now so I look at it as 6.00 quid saved (20cigs @ 7.00 x 7days = 49.00)

I don't mind making a few bad purchases early on while I am getting my head around it all as i know it will save me a bomb both in health and cost in the long run.

Again, thanks for your welcome messages and input.

Asking for opinions on which mod to look at is like asking for rain and you get a monsoon in this forum. There are literally a hundred to consider.

First you have to decide whether you would like a mod win an internal contained battery, or a mod where you use separate batteries. There are advantages to both. With an internal battery you plug it in to recharge with a usb cable in most instances. With the replaceable battery mod you swap out batteries when they need charged and put the old ones in a separate battery charger. (more expensive, batteries + charger). Then there is the mod that uses one battery and mods that use 2. Some of the contained battery mods will give you the same mah as a double battery mod.

Then you have to decide if you just want a simple VV/VW mod or one with temperature control. Temperature control is "the new thing" with mods. Using a specific coil the mod reads the temperature in the coil and shuts down if the temp gets too high so as to keep you from getting the bad dry hit.

You definitely want to buy something that will allow you to grow should you desire to go into sub ohms, or even to building your own coils (it's easy).

A lot of the recommendations will be determined by the vape budget you have to spend also.

The important issue right now is you're 7 days cig free.

Enjoy the journey.

I am pretty sure I just want a built in VV battery that charges via a usb/plug - the same as I have now as it is more convenient.

Temperature control and sub ohms again is something I have read about but do not desire. I am using this to aid me off nicotine all together in the long run. I don't want massive clouds of vaper as it looks cool and I don't smoke it any quicker than a normal cigerette - I read if you stick to 2-3 puffs /min as I did on a normal cig then then it should not overheat/dry hit.

So in short - a 510 threaded VV battery which charges via usb/plug in 1100mah capacity (even 1300mah capacity if it is the same size in length as a 1100mah) - I don't want a pool cue hanging out of my pocket ( save the jokes :) )

Are any battery manufacturers considered better than others?

I'm also stocked up on Aspire BDC 1.8ohm coils so it must be compatible with those.

I'm happy enough with the 1.8ohm - maybe a slightly higher throat hit would be nice but with a VV at maybe 4v I should acheive a better throat hit as opposed to 3.5v and 1.8ohms right?

Also those 5x NUCIG clearomizers I mentioned above I filled them up a little with 5 dif flavours and they all taste a bit like plastic - I can taste the rhubarb and custard, but also a plastic taste - Am i right in thinking the Kanger Mini Pro Tank should give me better flavour?

Thank you.

The first mods that come to mind are the iSticks 30 (2200 mah) and 40 watt TC the same price as the 30, (2600 mah), and Innokin has the MVP 30 w (3800 mah) and 60w (4400 mah), and the Coolfire IV (2000 mah) contained batteries. Evic also makes a temp control mod (5000 mah). The iSticks and the Coolfire are probably the most ergonomic and smallest. I am certain there are other makers to consider.

Any mod you get will work with the Aspire BDC tanks/coil. You might need a 510 adapter but they are only a few dollars and some mods come with them.

The Kanger Protank will be a marked improvement from where you started. There's only a thousand different tanks to consider, and the Protank is a good start.

iStick 30 or 40 watt with Aspire Nautilus mini tank------ Coolfire 4 with Nautilus

I wouldn't disregard temperature control because you just don't think you'll need it. With the iStick 40 w(30 USD)or any temp control mod, you can run it just like a regular VV/VW mod. It will last you a while so its something to consider down the road, as they use a different coil to make the temp function perform correctly.

7 days is an accomplishment be proud. Enjoy...

Thanks for the reply.

I check the 3 batteries you mentioned and they are all quite square, including the pictures provided.

Is there nothing that will do the job in a pen style circular battery?

Thanks

I'd suggest going to a local vape shop and actually seeing one in person, as they are quite small in reality.

There are a few medium power eGo batteries, ones with Variable Voltage. The Innokin iTasteVV range has variable watts too.

The most powerful "slim" cylinder battery is probably the eGo one or iJust. More cigar sized than cigarette. Thicker than your VIP too.

As for buying VIP... count yourself lucky. 2 or 3 years ago we were all throwing away money on products like E-Lites and Nicolites. Those would cost £3,000 a year (easy with E-Lites) to enjoy dreadful nicotine cravings and half a dozen batteries on constant charge. Jeez, they were bad. They barely work and people are still buying them.
E-Lites are more expensive than smoking.... the community proved this, but they keep saying one refill is 30 or 40 fags or whatever. It should be illegal.

I spent over £500 before realising I was being taken for a ride. :)

£43 and finding a forum is a bargain. Vape on! :)

Thank you for the replies. I have not made a decision just yet but will over the next few days and get one ordered, i will let you know.

Another quick question...

I am currently using 1.8ohms on a stand battery so 3.3-3.7ish volts. Will 1.8ohms be OK at higher voltages on a VV or will I have to increase my resistance?

I ask because I bought 3x5 packs on 1.8ohm Aspire BDC's and i'd hate them to go to waste!

Cheers

Thanks Chrissie.

Still getting my head around all the different terms in the vape world! Turns out that vapescape that is closing down is literally 10 mins from me in Heywood so i'm going to pop up there this week and get stocked up on a few things. If they have anything decent left that is!

I should have my protank mini 3's this week also.

I & so many others are gutted that Vape Escape are closing down - one of the best, if not the very best e-cig sellers. He has helped so many folks in so many ways & a thoroughly good guy.

If there us anything you can't get your head round, don't hesitate asking for clarification.
