Hi vapers !

So I'm new here, and new to vaping. I bought an EVOD starter kit back in March, tried it a few times but didn't stick to it. I just tried again last week - right before Memorial day week-end because I had 5 days off and knew I wouldn't have as many temptations to smoke as I do at work. First few days, I both smoked and vaped, but I didn't go out an buy a new pack. First huge improvement. Not having a pack of cigarettes on hand and not being bothered to go out and buy one, which I would have done even at 3am before vaping.

First few days, I still craved cigarettes, and... hem... I smoked the butts I had in the ashtray (I tend to not smoke my cigarettes all the way to the filter so there's always like half an inch left).

After just a couple of days I realized I am still craving smoking (of course), but I'm not craving cigarettes anymore. Saying no when my colleagues offer one has become easy, and it's only been a week. I chain vape, though :p but don't sweat it. I believe it will regulate itself in time, and I have some very low or no-nic juice at hand.

So here I am, one week out, after smoking for 20 years (1PAD), and I don't *want* a cigarette anymore. Which, tbh, is a huge surprise to me, because I used to like them a lot, and not only the nicotine. I tried to stop numerous times (always using patches) but I always got back into it. My longest non-smoking period was 2.5 years.

Cheers !

Welcome to the forum. I smoked for 50 years and have been vaping for a month and I am down to 3 a day. (only because I have a carton on hand and don't want to throw them out because they were so expensive.) But I know I could give them up in a minute because I love vaping so much. Enjoy the journey! It only gets better in time. Congratulations on giving up the analogs!

Im so glad for you! I stopped Dec 2013 after 50 years of smoking and it took me a week to not want them. I found they didn't taste good anymore and I was getting my NIC fix from vaping. I am vaping all day and nite when I am not keeping busy with other activities. I like candy and fruit flavors. I get most of my juice online from Mt Baker Vapor. I found the tank I like the best is the Kanger Aerotank Mega and the Mini. I started out using CE4s and they were ok for a few months but after watching lots of YouTube videos about gaping and what is out there I tried the Protank 2 and am so glad I did. This becomes a hobby and the money you save on not buying cigs ends up spent on juice and the batteries and tanks!
Good Luck to you

Congrats! Kinda cool waking up without your mouth tasting like last night's ashtray now, isn't it?

I quit last December after 33 years of heavy clove cig smoking, and still clearly remember how cool it was not to taste like the half cigs I'd light up every morning to "save money on cigs"

Good to have you aboard, and lemme give you a hint...it just keeps getting better from here on out =)

Although you don't think so, ...keep some higher nic juice around.
First, you won't have to vape your face off, second, there will be times when the craving will hit (programs in the brain), third, you can always dilute it down later when you have been at it passed the 3 month mark.
It's a little harder when you have to work, and can't vape just any o'time.
The stronger nic will last longer in your system, and will get you through.
Congrat's on not supporting the tobacco company's anymore and taking control of your life
