Hi,

I'm trying to completely quit smoking (mostly vaping now). I ordered 2 perfumer's apprentice pg based flavors: mint candy, spearmint.

I've been reading a lot of DIY guides and think I have a decent handle on things (sorta), but I keep reading that how much depends on how concentrated the flavors are. I was hoping someone here had an idea about that with PA?

I'm going to test some 5ml batches. Can anyone tell me "about" how much flavoring to add, or a good idea of a starting amount? I'm using a 80/20 vg/pg and I won't be adding any nicotine for these little test batches.

Thanks

Not specifically. Iirc the issue is some flavor companies dilute some flavors to the point of the least concentrated flavor so all flavors use the same amount of material. Iirc flavorwest is one of these. Some also don’t, so different flavorings within the same brand require different amounts for the same intensity. I do not know if PA is in the first group or the second.

One thing you may want to consider: there are only two flavors and only one consumer: You.

This means all sorts of systems designed to create consistent and quality control simply don’t matter. Whatever percentage of flavor you like best is the right one by definition.

Thank you (and everyone), that is a big list of flavors! I had to laugh at "cheesy vomit" and "sunscreen" lol. But, I know what it feels like to taste something bad and be like "Now..what IS that flavor?" O_O

I'll start around 5% and see how that works.

Thanks again!

Hi and welcome,
No need to flounder about...
Go HERE and get the PDF. > DIY Getting started cheat sheet - good information gathered from ECF
It has a section at the end with percentages listed for multiple vendors in a very easy to read table format.

You are welcome.

Okay, thank you! I will start at 3% and move up from there as needed. I ordered some 306 attys to test these out so I don't have to keep using/cleaning coils (or by a devoted device).
ELR recipes has a great flavor list tool
mint candy is pretty soft, I'd start at 7%, be prepared to go up
spearmint is strong and can get bitter, I'd start this one at 1%
