New Vaper Questions/Frustrations

I started with a basic starter kit, but have upgraded to a Vision 1300 mAh spinner with a smok Tech Pyrex Aro. I like it, but it's more top heavy than I would like. Any suggestions for a different yet similar tank?

I'm only getting about five days out of a coil. Yeah, I like the coffee & chocolate combo, so I realize chocolate is a darker flavor which may cause shorter coil life. Any cleaning suggestions for extended coil life? I am on a strict budget, so I am wary of the dry burn. I think I just need more info.

I was told that I should use 2.4 coils with this setup, but I have a bunch of 1.5, can I still use those? I hate to see them go to waste.

I so appreciate the advice of all the veterans out there. Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

Here's the cleaning process I use Pt/Puritank atomizer heads:

Soak in alcohol (Not Rubbing Alcohol) overnight.
Rinse throughly with warm tap water forcing water into the wick area.
Towel dry and blow out any water.
Remove the gasket and stem.
Remove the flavor wick(s).
Dry burn 6 watts, 5 seconds on/off. Repeat until coils are all turning red and wick is clean.
Blow the burned off crud away.

Hold the flavor wick with tweezer while burning them with a lighter or torch until wick is clean.
-Place the flavor wick back on top of the coil.
Or.
-Place the flavor wick back on top of the coil.
-Dry burn as above to cleanup the flavor wick (4-5 cycles should do it).
Or.
-Replace the flavor wick with the material of your choice.

Reinstall the stem and gasket.

There's a ton of youtube videos showing the hands on.
1.5 ohm atomizer heads should be fine, but I prefer the 2.5 ohm heads as well.

With a 1.5 coil you will want your volts low. The general rule is add 2 to your ohms so 3.5V. Might try those coils on your plain egos. I started using EVOD tanks which were ok. The coils are like $1.20 each on Ebay with free shipping. But I kept getting funk and gurgles. So I ordered some 32 ga kanthal wire and used the wife's cotton balls to rebuild them. Life got way better. Silica works sometimes, but gimmee cotton wick for a good hitting non-gurgle EVOD/Protank. Bottom coil things can be easier for a new person. That way your wicks sit in the liquid. Long wicks hanging down may not suck up enough juice, especially silica wicks.

I know the Smok Tech Aro tanks are a little heavy, but they work so well and reliably for me that I don't mind that. I've had problems with leaks and gurgles with other tanks, but not with my Smok Tech Aros. I got them and used them with my Vision Spinner, and now use them with my MVP that I recently got. I've purchased extras so I can keep different juices loaded and ready throughout the day.

The link above is a power chart that helped me out a lot whenever i was using lower ohm coil heads for the first time. Most of these ranges are ones that you should be able to get to with your mvp. I would give this a shot and see if it makes much of a difference.

Def recommend just about any Kanger clearomizer. The EVODs are inexpensive and fit nicely on Ego batts (the protanks are very good as well). As far as your coils go... My evod worked amazing for 2 days then vapor went way down. Took it apart, cleaned the connections, dry-burned the coil and put it all back together. Worked again for 2 puffs  So, I cleaned the coil again (figured out it was over-wicking) and re-wicked with cotton. Now it runs like a champ, great flavor and vapor. So, I would make sure that your coils are not just dirty rather than altogether dead. Would def try a good cleaning / dry-burn and re-wick with cotton. The darker liquids def gunk up the coils and wick much faster, so regular cleaning may be all that you need. **Be sure NOT to dry burn with cotton wicks, only with silica / SS. REMOVE cotton wicks BEFORE dry-burning!!!

Here's a list of glass tanks and clearos to try:
Mini Protank 2, 3 and Aero
Aspire ET-S
15mm cartotank from IBTanked - This is different from a clearo I know, but the taste is great and the cartos last longer then coils IMO
Evod Glass

Plastic may be lighter, but I've stopped recommending plastic due to the tanks eventually degrading. However, they are generally cheaper, so if you don't mind buying a bunch just to have a lighter option, and you don't vape cinnamon and citrus they could be okay.

For cleaning Aro coils, I'd look up youtube videos on dry burning Protank coils. I imagine that they would be same process. I think the Aro is basically a glass clone of the Evod, which takes Protank coils.
