Also, if you end up upgrading to a rebuildable atomizer, reduce the strength by a LOT! I tried using my old 18mg juice on a new rda and couldn't stop coughing for a good 5 minutes. 6mg worked like a charm.

Yep, the cloud chasers at my local shop told me the general rule for RDAs is take whatever strength you normally vape at and divide by 3. It's not a solid rule for everyone, but it's a good place to start.

When I 1st started vaping it made me cough and choke like mad. After just easing into it after a while my lungs got used to it. Now I can vape 36mg nic juice and fill my lungs to the fullest and doesn't bother me a bit. Just stick with it. It's better than those cigs !!!! Try going to 36mg at 2.4 ohms. It really is a huge difference. I buy my liquids from 24-36nic dependinding on what's available.

I smoke (bit early to say 'used to smoke') around 20/30 rollies a day.

That's how much I used to smoke and I started with 18mg for about a month then switched to 12mg strength. It really also matters how frequently you vape in a day which you will only know over time. If you chain vape all day than you will want lower nic levels. It sounds like your voltage and resistance setup isn't causing the high throat hit it's your liquid. Probably from the PG and the nic level and the flavorings seems to change TH especially tobacco flavors for me at least.

I think I have cracked this now. It seems I when I was leaving it stood up it made the throat hit really bad, no matter what the level of liquid was. But having it in laying down or in a horizontal position really reduces the throat hit, I am having to increase the voltage on the ego twist to increase the throat hit. So it must just be when it is stood up/vertical the amount of liquid reaching the coil is not enough and makes it burn a lot more. Would this make sense to you guys?

This got me thinking and I think I am now going to purchase a bottom coil EVOD or a Protank 3 knowing the liquid I have is fine.
