New vaper with some conserns.

Hello!

I am a complete new vaper - Just bought my first "tank" last week. So far I am loving it. Only problem is that I seem to vape more then I smoked :p I guess I'll need to fine tune that hehe.

I have been a smoker for many years. Early last year I quit smoking when my son was born but due to real life stress and events I started again few months back. That made me quite angry at myself. Now I am fine tuning my needs for the vape and am going to go 100% vape 0% smoke this week (So far, 3 days in, i'm 85% vape, 15% smoke)

I started out with what I thought to be a Kanger E-vod, but from my (limited) research it is most likely a copy of Kanger. At least i can not find this version on the Kanger website.
It looks similar to this the Evod but the tank is made from see through glass with replaceable bottom coil. plus it is blue - kanger seems to only offer black and silver and with not all clear tank.. NO CE markings - only markings on it is EVOD - mouthpease is chrome like... it has the 5 click turn on/ off feature.
(would post a link but am not allowed to since im' new here)

None the less it does work quite nicely, gives a decent flavour and packs a nice vapor. The cartridge holds about a day's worth of liquid compared to my current use. with supposedly 900mah battery. It did not come with any manual so my knowledge of it is limited to the info given to me by the seller.

I would love to know if someone has a pointer to a good E-cig in this Evod style in the 20-50$ range or are all in that pricerange just no good?

Also i would like to know if i can use whatever Liquid out there in this style of e-cig?

sorry for a noobish questions and maybe some bad english grammar. It is not my native language.

Best regards

The Nautilus and Nautilus mini tanks are in high demand currently with many good reviews. They would fall within your price range too. They have very good vapor production and a good coil life on them. As for liquid you can run mostly anything they would sell in the stores, you will most likely want something around 50% PG 50% VG, this mixture is the normal as it wicks really well with almost all tanks, higher VG juices are designed more towards dripping and sub-ohm tanks.

I started out with a smoktech evod clone. Aero I beleive they were called. Then went to the smok aero2 now I'm using a Lemo drop. I can only speak from my relatively limited experience, but I highly recommend smoktech products. In fact, in y experience, I had better results with smok coils over the kangers. As far as batteries, I liked the Smok and vision spinners. Although the spinners I have used were a bit more brittle than the Smoks. The new authentic Kanger EVOD 2 are quite nice and relatively cheap. If you like the results you've gotten from your product, I suggest trying the original it's based on.

Hi Beatsuka and welcome to ECF!

As others have said, you can use pretty much any e-liquid in an your tanks. The Nautilus Mini would also be a good choice if you want to get another tank, and it's fairly reasonable in price.

Happy Vaping!

Thank you all for your reply's and welcomes :).

I have looked into the Aspire kits and they do seem nice. I am asuming that the Nautilius you refere to is from Apsire.?

The problem with Liquid is the fact that this is still "illegal" where I live.. so I have to buy my liquid from a indivitual importer. I am looking into way's to import it myself but not sure yet how that will go.

I want to find a good product and import it to sell to others wanting to start vaping here. but it might be a problem try'n to sell something that i can not get the liquid for ;)

Only problem I see with the Aspire nautilius is the size. it's about 2 cm longer then my current one that is already in the larger area for day to day carry around vaper.

I have qouple of questions if someone minds answering :)

1. How can I know what wall charger adapter I am safe to use for my Evod? It's suposed to have 900mah batteri. that's all I know. I have noticed that most wal chargers that come with mobile phones are 5v 1A up to 5v 2A .. should it be safe to use those?
I also have a car usb charger that has one usb port that has 5w 1A and 10w 2.1A
Dont' want to blow this up heh.

2. do the "tanks or the claromizers" fit between batteries from different manufacturers? or am I stuck with just one nozzle/tank if I buy a kit?

3. What is you favorite quality Liquid? I need to find something good if i'm to try to import it :p

Hey mate!

To your first question, you can't use just anything in that tank. If it is an evod, or evod-style, it is most likely made of polycarbonate and not glass, so many types of acidic eliquids will cause it to crack and degrade. Cinnamons and anise can be especially bad, but some of the fruit flavors can do it too. Depending on where you're ordering you can ask if it is safe for plastic tanks, and if you or they aren't sure we can suggest a few.

To your second question, I'm a little confused. If your tank and battery seem to be working OK and you like them, then you should be fine, even if they aren't authentic, though you might want to keep an eye on your battery and not charge it while sleeping. Here is something similar that is know to be authentic in your price range:

$32.32 Authentic EVOD 650mAh Rechargeable Starter Kit - 2*e-cigs / 1.5ml / 2.5ohm / US plug adapter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

If you want a tank that can handle all eliquids, this is a favorite I often recommend:
$11.95 Authentic Mini Protank-II BCC Clearomizer (1.0-1.5mL) - translucent / 1.8ohm / extra coil head at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

And if you want an eliquid that is safe for your tanks and economical, this may be of use:

$3.59 Hangsen E-liquid for Electronic Cigarettes (30ml) - Ruyan 4 flavor / 18mg/ml nicotine at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

sorry for a noobish questions and maybe some bad english grammar. It is not my native language.

No worries, ask for whatever you need or are confused about, and congrats on how well you've cut back!

I know the equipment prices can seem cost prohibiting, especially if your still smoking the reals, but if you can up your budget by about $30 and find an actual vape shop in your area (use Google) they will set you up right. I'm guessing you boughtyou're kit from a gas station or a tobacco shop. No worries! We all started out as noobs! Lol

I don't want you to blow yourself up either. My undertanding is it should be 5V & 500mA adapter, which'll output 4.2V and 420 milliamps(mA). I *think*, but that's off the top of my head and I'm sleep-deprived. However I'm sure that to charge them at 1A+ is a bad idea.

2. do the "tanks or the claromizers" fit between batteries from different manufacturers? or am I stuck with just one nozzle/tank if I buy a kit?

They will often be interchangeable. There are 3 main connectors:

1. 510
2. Evod
3. 808

510 is the most universal. Your battery and tank are Evod, which is a 510 connector plus an outer ring. 808 is much rarer. You can also buy adapters, like a 510-to-808 adapter.

So for your ego battery that you have, you can use ego devices or 510 devices. To use an 808 device you would need an adapter.

3. What is you favorite quality Liquid? I need to find something good if i'm to try to import it :p

I'll let others fill in the gaps here, but there are a few companies that seem to export their stuff that I see show up in foreign stores. Halo is a popular one. You'll want to be sure it is a thinner eliquid for the tanks you are using, and not go below a 50/50 PG to VG mix. I'd look at various overseas stores (canada, uk, etc.) and see what they're stocking, as well as some known-good cheaper things like I linked above.

Welcome to ECF. Tons of nice folks here to help you out. I started with the Evod as well but have since upgraded to the aspire nautilus mini which I paired up with the mvp20w. Jumping from the Evod to a aspire tank is a great way to go. I seem to get a ton more flavor from the aspire tank and being able to adjust wattage/volts with the mvp20w makes the flavor pop even more. I spent about 75 dollars on the two items mentioned above and honestly I wish I would have started with the aspire/mvp setup. Evod is okay but the setup I've got now is like a flavor explosion on every puff.

Congrats on cutting down on the tobacco. Perhaps soon you can find a rig that works for you and stop tobacco for good.

Welcome Beatsuka, now that you're here, wander around a little. Every question you have asked really has multiple answers mostly based on preference and of course budget. There are many kits that perform well within your budget, so no worries there. Like anything, more money, better equipment, but you can find what you need on a budget too. Only thing of concern is your mention of illegal. I am not familiar with the laws there so I really can't address that, but depending on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go, EVERYTHING required to vape can actually be DIY with some effort.

Thank you for your reply's

Regarding the Evod I have now. I get more frustrated every minute I get deeper into my research. I pay'd 83$ for it and in that package I got 1 battery, 1 tank, 3 coils, usb charger (no wall mount) and a zipped wallet to carry all. including was also 30ml of liquid
From what I can tell i owerpay'd highly but that's what you get when you get a idea and jump on it before doing research.

The reason I am looking into what other brands people suggest and like is mostly because since the vape world is quite new but on a growth here in Iceland. I want to find a starter kit that is of good quality compared to price that I can import and sell here to those willing to join the vape world.
I do like the evod so I think the original Evod from Kangertech will maybe do good and I also am liking the Aspire. Aspire is a bit more expencive and only comes with one tank / one battery in starter kit for more money then the kangertech that gives 2 of each.

I am looking for a second sete for me personaly aswell since my GF wants one to
I am also scared of the one I bought for fire hazzards since it is not CE Marked (maening it is not legal in EU) so I might just try to return it.. not sure
Problem with that is that I bought it from a guy that imports and sells it from his garrage heh..

The e-cigs are not illegal here. but the liquids are not approoved by the goverment and are compensated if found in customs if they contain nigotine, not if they are nigotin free.

I thought it was ok to use a 1A since the usb charger that comes with the evod looked like it was a adapter aswell. guess that is not the case. I'll just charge it with the computer then from now on :p

Beatsuka -

Velkominn and takk for joining our community. I lived in Iceland (Keflavik, Grindavik and Hafnarfjordur) for a about 5 years, and I spent about 90% of my free time trekking around the interior (Kerlingarfjöll... So Amazing) or caving (in the south and up near Snaefell) but I took a few trips up to your area - gorgeous! Oh, and the nightlife! Wow. Truly, all of Iceland is amazing. Sadly, it's been almost a decade since that I left, so please forgive me if my Icelandic is rusty (It was never good...).

I remember how tough (and expensive) it was to buy anything. I sympathize with any scarcity caused by Gov't regulation and the still developing vape community. I can see how you are having problems finding the right juice. I'm not sure if you've looked into it, but Do It Yourself (DIY) liquids might be a better option for you. PG, VG and the flavorings, I would think, would be allowed for import, which would leave you only the problem of getting the NIC. I wish I had an answer for this problem... Know any smugglers? (I kid. I'm joking.)

I do a modified DIY where I add NIC to store-bought 0% juices to get them to the NIC % I want. BUT: any sort of DIY is something you should definitely do research on before you jump in.

Does Iceland classify e-cigarettes and accessories as tobacco products? It seems that the NIC "is" classified as tobacco which is on the DO NOT IMPORT list according to the US Postal Service. Hmmm...

I'm not sure if eJuice Subscription services are an option, but they might be worth a look. They usually run $25-$70 (US) a month and you get between 50-100 ml of juice. If you're just seeking juices to taste the 0% might work, though it's not going to fill your addiction with the NIC....

I don't use tanks much anymore but when I do I'm a strict Aspire fan. The Nautilus (and maybe someday down the road if you ever want to go sub ohm , the atlantis) is a great tank and I think most of the folks here will agree. Great flavor and good vapor production.

I can't help much with your choice of ego mods because I went a different route in my vaping, but I think I could definitely help you down the road with a gift juice sampler pack, if we can figure out how to import legally. Send me a PM and we'll see what we can figure out.

Maybe in return you can send my some hotdogs with extra pylsusinnep and fried onions. :) #NOM

Good luck on getting to ZERO smokes! Tell everybody in Iceland I said "Hi"!

When using tanks like that; the only thing you need to be worried about in your juice is your ratio of pg/vg. Ideally for a tnak setup like you describe 50/50 would be great for you. You will see some juice companies with a higher ratio of vg; these are mostly for rebuild able dripping atomizer(RBA). the higher vg produces larger clouds; but in a tnak system like you describe could lead to wicking issues. with a higher vg juice you may get dry hits, where you are burning your cotton/ silica wick because the cotton/silica is unable to adsorb the juice fast enough.

Cavenerd - Takk fyrir. Thank you for your imput and nice to hear you like our country so much :) And yes it is sad how they act about importing of many usefull things.
They count Nicotin as a medicen meaning you need special permission to import it. and Ofc they make sure that the special permission costs more than anyone can afford just so they can import it themselfs, yet refusing to import nicotin in liquid form.

I am more then willing to trade with you for some hotdogs ;) i'll send you a message regarding that. hehe. Thank you

I am liking viping more and more. but I find I do it quite much when try'n to not have a stinky ending up sometimes getting headache. using the 12ml bottles.
I get nice smoke and good taste from my current Evod and I recon I will buy the nautilus mini and few extra tanks so I can have different flavours (great idea from b4stoner) thank you.

I have no idea what ratio my current juice is since it is in a unmarket container. I dont even know where it is from. that makes me want to try to import myself. Maybe i can find someone that is willing to put a good quality 12ml nic liquid in a container marked 0% hehe.

I used an ego c 1100 or 900 for years. They are inexpensive and suit my masic needs for a battery - create enough resistance to creare vapor. The last year or so, I've used an ego twist. It makes a difference with some flavors, but not my all day vape (adv). The key is the right rank and resistance level. Initially, you may want to start slow and give each battery and flavor enough time...when I started, 100 was the norm at our local vape shop. Now it's about that amount every 6 months. Like anything, onve you know what you like, it is easier.
