Hi guys... I used to smoke analogs about 10 years ago and got into vaping recently. I really like the sensation and my eGo C-Twist 900mah.

I am experiencing one small issue... I have gum and tooth pain in my front upper and lower teeth. I use 100% VG liquid and fruit flavors but nothing crazy sweet.... all 0mg. I did do some research and read that PG may cause tooth pain but again I only use VG liquid. Also, I do not bite down on my the tip of my eGo so Im really confused as to what is causing this pain. I would really hate to give up on vaping so maybe someone can give me ideas or help.

Thanks,

CT

Sorry to hear of the discomfort. Try to stick with it if you can.

I don't want to discourage from a dentists visit, but it is fairly common. It is one of the side effects from quitting smoking. If it gets too uncomfortable see a dentist. If the problem is still there after a week see a dentist. More than likely it will go away in a few days.

I am having the same problem. It has been going on now for a couple of weeks. I really noticed it when I was using the Kanger Pro Tank. I stopped using it now and the pain is 95% gone. Something to do with the metal maybe? Not sure. It only hurt my front teeth which I thought was odd because they are not real.

Im not positive about this but, i think that vapor can dry out your teeth and gums, since it pulls moisture. Give a dry mouth restore, mouth rinse a try, might help.

Since VG produces alot of vapor, you could be excessively drying out your mouth, our teeth and gums need to be constantly wet, this could be contributing to your pain.

Thanks for the replies...

I havent vaped for 2 days and my teeth and gums are still killing me. I visit the dentist regularly so I know its not dental issue. Im wondering if i used a PG liquid if that would help. Im still new at this so Im not too sure what the benefits of a cartomizer vs other tank types. The tip of my carto is plastic and I don't bite down on it. Im really confused as to what to do I hate to stop vaping.. I thought that its usually VG and NOT PG that causes teeth pain.

I've decided to stop vaping till my mouth feels better.

Im almost postive its the e-cigs. Its the only new thing i've introduced to my diet. I do drink a lot of water as well.

Does anyone know if a person can be allergic to VG? Most people seem to have issues with PG..

Well, people blame a lot on PG. I think less than 10% of people have an actual allergy.

I can't vape high VG. Like klynnn, I get that heaviness in my chest too with VG. Do you feel like you're getting liquid in your mouth? How about lowering the voltage on your twist.

I wonder if something like Biotene would help?

Im willing to try anything.. I have the voltage on my eGo at 3.2 the lowest setting.

Another idea... do cartomizers really create a hotter mouth piece than a clearomizer? Maybe the heat on my teeth and from the Vapor are making me hurt?

When my mouth feels better i'll buy a nice clearo... any suggestions?

BTW: I just wanted to thank people for responding. I am a member of a few other forums (gun stuff, several BMW ones) and you guys have been most helpful... esp to a newbie member with very few posts.

If your teeth are resting directly on the drip tip, it certainly could be the heat traveling through the drip tip to your teeth. Are you vaping low resistance or high resistance? I find, that personally, I can't vape LR anything. It causes me a lot of various discomfort. Mainly from the extra heat. If you are vaping LR you might want to try something in the SR range. It gives a much cooler vape. Also if you are using a stainless steel DT, you could try an acrylic or delrin DT to help minimize the heat.

You have not vaped in 2 days, the pain is not going away. I believe you should re-think what you "know." :p

Make an appointment.
