Hey guys,

I'm 25 year old guy from Belgium, been a smoker for about 7 years now (5-15 analogs a day average), been quite athletic for the past 3/4 years > bike messenger, and really wanted to try to switch to vaping after hearing the benefits from a "co-worker" / cyclist / friend of mine.

So yea, I switched to vaping about a week ago, couldn't be happier. I cycle 6 to 8 hours a day for work so I really could use the extra stamina.. I've barely craved cigarettes but other then that [edited] i'm tobacco free.

So everything's perfect other then the fact that... yea, I get sex headaches. Never had them before, never even heard of them but they're awful! It's basically an headache that intensifies all the way to orgasm and it's the worse headache i've ever had! It usually stays for a couple hours afterwards...

I've been trying to look around on the internet and haven't found much... Did you guys every heard of something like this? Could it be linked to tobacco withdrawal? Am I not compatible to certain e-liquids (I use 6 or 3mg nics and i think 50/50 PG/VG)? Is it my blood flow regulating? Am i getting too much / not enough - blood/oxygen, to my brain? Should I stop vaping? Should I persevere?

Please help!
I'm at my girlfriends right now, I only get to see her a couple days a month. She's getting mad at me... :(

Yea i'll go see a doctor once i get back home, I'm out in the deep country side for a week though. Bought the cig on last Wednesday, had light headaches for the first two days, then nothing, had my first sex headache on Saturday. Have slowed down on vaping a lot since then, am stopping completely now... Sadly. Felt good to get my lungs back for a bit.

Wouldn't wish that sex headache thing to my worst enemy, intensely painful and awfully frustrating as you might imagine...

As someone who gets occasional migraines I know how bad headaches can be. First would be see a doctor obviously, until then just try the strongest pain killer you can get. Excederin helps a bit, also caffeine can help headaches although I don't know specifically with your type of headache. Good luck, I feel for you and hope you get some relief.

Since no one has asked yet what type of vape gear are you using? I see you say 5 to 15 smokes a day and I am thinking you may be getting a Nicotine headache because you are getting too much. I also wholeheartedly agree to see a doctor if symptoms persist. Also quitting vaping for a few days might be easy since it has only been a week.

My doctor told me that nicotine is similar in that it constricts blood vessels, which temporarily raises blood pressure. Maybe a gap of time between the two. I always look back to having sex and, feeling drained, wanting a cig after to perk up.

Just ideas, nothing more. If your doc gives educated advice, I would be interested in the bit of learning.

Learning is good. Good luck.

While many of the people on this board switched rapidly painlessly, I took a long time. There are 7000 other chemicals in tobacco smoke other than nicotine, including whole tobacco alkaloids which are in some ways more interesting and beneficial (and more addictive) than nicotine. When I first tried going the entire work day without a cig, I had to back up and have one in late afternoon or start getting headachey. How much of this was doing without smoke, and how much it was starting to overvape due to problems feeling satisfied I'm not sure. After another few weeks I got past that obstacle (I was still smoking part of the rest of the day at this stage).
