hi everyone.

I just quit smoking few days ago and joined the vape gang..

So as a nooby in the vapping scene I started with a 65% PG , 35% VG with 11 MG of nicotine ejuice and couldn't vape it at all when I exhale it felt like something is scratching my throat so I did more and more reasearch and I found out that some ppl are allergic to PG and I might be one of them then I ordered a 70% VG 30% PG with a 6MG nicotine and I was able to vape on it although I still have the a little bit of a sour throat but not as bad as before.. and some weird headache maybe the headache is from quitting smoking I think but I've read that PG can also cause it. What should I do? Should I cut down the PG to zero or what?

I'm using a starter kit from joytech ego aio d22

All help is appreciated.

Thank you guys & let's keep on vapping.

Hi and welcome! First realize when you stop smoking all sorts of stuff goes on in your body. Second you're adapting to inhaling something different than past experience.

Two things give "throat hit", which supposed to be that feeling of inhaling a cigarette, the nic and the PG. That feeling also causes a little minor irritation which you may or may not notice. The 70/30 is OK, hopefully the 6 mg nic will be enough to satisfy any cravings. I would not worry at all about how much nic you need unless it's making you feel sick, as in queasy stomach which happens with too much, but that is simply telling you to stop vaping on the mod so much.

As for the headaches, sure, it could be from stopping smoking, and/or starting vaping, and/or from something unrelated. If you do find yourself not feeling well, by all means reach out to your regular doctor, but it sounds like you're going through some adjustments with this big step of stopping smoking.

ok First off WELCOME!!!

What ohm level is the coil in your AIO I know there are a couple of different ones. That will give me some hint as to the sort of vapor level you are getting.

THere are multiple possibilities on what could be the problem so let me give you the beginner rundown.

First off Both PG and VG dry out our bodies badly. Drink lots of water. That will keep you hydrated. FOr me early dehydration often shows as a headache. ALso for me PG drys me out worse than VG.

When you quit and for the next several months your body is going to be expelling many nasty things that have built up from smoking. Water help flush those out too but some odd symptoms will pop up. That said if symptoms persist a doctor visit is in order.

It could be PG or VG or Nic or flavorings.

With the Nic depending on your setup 6 MG might be high for you or it might be about right. That is why I asked about the ohms of your AIO coils.

THe best plan is to change just ONE thing and see if the situation improves. SO keep Flavor, PG, VG the same and change the nic level. OR Keep PG, VG and nic level the same and change flavor, OR Keep Flavor and nic the same and change PG and VG levels. By only changing one thing it will help you figure out what the culprit is.

Yeah I thought it's the same thing as well.

I have a question. As a new caper I don't know the megerment for ejuice usually when I used to smoke I knew when I'm Smooking too much but with vapping I don't really know. So approximately how many ML of ejuice is good to vape on on a daily basis?

Thank you very much

I'm using a 0.5 coil on my joytech aio because it gives more airflow

That is impossible for us to answer in a definitive way. It is different for everyone and depends heavily on what kind of liquid and system you are using.

When you smoked you knew when you needed a cig and when you had too many. You got light headed or a headache or a sore throat or any number of symptoms unique to you. It is the same with vaping. Listen to what your body is telling you is really the best answer I can give.

Ok 6 mg nic is probably ok in that setup. If the sore throat persists you might want to try dropping to 3 mg and IF NECESSARY vape a bit more. Nic provides the throat hit (that thump in the back of the throat when you take a puff) and it is possible it is just too much and getting irritating.

You use as much nic as you need to not smoke. If 6 satisfies you good, 3 good, 24, also good. We're all different, and the amount of nic in the juice doesn't matter so long as it's enough to meet your needs. i started out on 24 mg and was there for months before dropping. I also dropped only because I changed my vape style. Concentrate on the not smoking, the nic dose will fall into place.

I vape red hot cinnamon and cool menthol mixed together and love the flavor..... but if I take too many draws in too short a time I can start to get a mild head

ache..probably from the strong menthol.....................sometimes in the past.....I have vaped ejuice that was not quite strong enough to give me the satisfaction that I

was looking for........and so I was vaping like crazy because it was not satisfying me and I started to feel a little sick...........and so like the other posters said

above.....there are a lot of factors that would affect your experience...........................good luck...finding your comfortable mixture............................

Hi and welcome- congrats on quitting cigarettes! Finding the right eliquid can be a chore, so many flavors, pg/vg and nic level. The headaches are probably a symptom of quitting cigarettes! I had headaches and coughing for a few months while I switched from cigarettes to vaping! Drink water, it helps and if symptoms persist see a Dr.
Best Of Luck!

Welcome and glad you joined. Your getting good advice. Sounds like you are in the 3-1.5 mg. VG80+area. You may find, over time, as I did that nic is not really necessary (more bother than it's worth). As to how much you can vape, your body will let you know.
Big thing to remember is vaping is almost totally scalable, some wrong, there are many ways to fix it.
