New VFL fan, some questions

Thanks to all the good advice I received here, I have been happily vaping with my new V4L equipment the last few days.

I have just come up with a few questions-

do you guys usually hold on to all the empy cartridges for re-use? What about the caps, or I guess they are called condoms? (I think I need to come up with a good way to store all this equipment) I am assuming if you refill, you need to use the same/similar flavor?

Also, do you only use V4L liquids? I do enjoy Ecopure and would still like to use that occasionally.

Ummm, I think that is all for now....except wow! Every time I take a hit, I am amazed at the difference between what I was using and now. Thanks so much!

Yes if you want to reuse your cartomizers you can. I would keep my cartridge condoms as there is a way you can refill your cartomizers with your cartridge condoms. And I am sure they prevent leaks during storage. I would imagine you don't have to use the same or similar flavor but it may taste odd at first. Soon they will carry empty premium cartomizers but for now they have empty regular cartomizers. You don't have to use V4L liquids for your refills but some of there flavors are not carried elsewhere. I think everyone does things differently, but this is how I do it. I start out with a fresh carto, then top it off quite a few times and then toss it into a coffee can with the condoms on. I used to refill my cartos, but now I usually just top it off with about 9 drops (or until it doesn't absorb the drop quickly) when it seems to be getting a bit "dry". (This is way before it would start getting that burned taste) I have a bunch saved so that if for some reason our Gov. makes it difficult to get stuff, I just need to get the liquid (which I also stock up on) and I should be able to manage. Call me paranoid, but I am NOT giving up my vape! lol

I used to wait until I got the slightly burnt taste and then rinse and refill, but topping off periodically (like every couple of hours or so add a few drops) and keeping it nice and moist just seems to be working well for me. I put on a fresh carto every morning and use it all day long by topping it off and then into the can it goes...

I use V4L juice, but not necessarily the same flavor to top off. Some flavors compliment each other such as butterscotch and cappaccino, and strawberry and vanilla...

I'm sure others will chime in and tell you their methods so you can find one that works for you.

I top off during the day like jen.I save the cartos and wash them out.I have a bunch of clean empty carts I can refill with whatever I choose.

I pretty much have 5 cartos with me at all times, mostly because I like to switch up the flavor throughout the day. I don't go through them all, but I top them all off when I get home from work - had one carto filled with doublemint (from another vendor) that I had topped off 21 times...was bragging about that last night and of course it conked out on me today... so I tossed it into my "to clean" bucket. The box from my kit now holds all my filled cartos and I have a tackle box as my "refill kit"... all my juice, a piece of microfiber (for cleaning batteries, mouthpieces after filling, etc) labeling stuff (sheet of blank labels, scissors, pen, etc) and have two sections reserved for the "to be cleaned" cartos - one for the premiums and one for the regulars.

When traveling (like this weekend - house sitting for a friend and gotta remember to bring everything with me to work tomorrow!) I tuck my chargers and spare batts into the tacklebox and drop the box of cartos into my purse.

I have a few hundred cartos saved and ready to reuse.

Refill with same or similar flavors until they get gunky or start to lose performence. At that point, put them away until you get a handful.

When you decide that it's time to rehabilitate those gunky cartos, remove the caps & condoms and wash them out. Some folks just rinse them out under hot running water, some people here soak them in PGA or Everclear, and others boil them. How you decide to do them is a matter of choice.

Once the cartos have been de-gunked you will need to blow the excess water out of the polyfill batting and then let them dry out for a day or 2. They are usually good to go after that. When they have been cleaned you can use any juice you want to refill them.
