Isn't it enough that the makers of Chantix settled a multi-million dollar class action suit last year for the death of over 500 people? What does it take to pull it off the market.......or is this one of those "human lives lost vs. benefit to the greater number of people that lived" equations that the FDA uses when considering a drug from one of the pharmaceutical companies but neglects/won't use when studying the vaping industry?

Chantix did nothing for me. You're supposed to keep smoking for the first week while you're on Chantix and stop cold turkey by the start of the second week. And while you're on Chantix, it is supposed to make you hate the taste of cigarettes. The quitting cold turkey lasted all of one day for me. And it never changed the taste, so I continued smoking. Not to mention that my health insurance would not cover it, so I was costing me over $200 per month for the three months that you're supposed to be on it. I also read now that they have changed it so they no longer say that you should quit cold turkey, but rather slowly wean yourself off the cigarettes. I was lucky in that I didn't have any of the major side effects that they expect with Chantix, like the suicidal thoughts and depression.

The nicotine lozenges also didn't help me either....it never curbed the desire to smoke. The only thing that was successful in getting me off of cigarettes was vaping.

A guy I used to work with actually hallucinate off of it, he had disturbed sleep, would move throughout the house and stuff and couldn't tell the difference from dreams and reality when he woke up. Felt as if the dreams were real. His doctor said it was maybe because of his age ad he was in his 60's but I stayed the heck away from that drug.

I've actually attended a funeral of somebody who died from taking Chantix. 37 years old, healthy and left a wife and two little girls behind. All he wanted to to was quit smoking for his family.

It was recently updated with the FDA, I believe it was. I got on email on it. I don't watch tv anymore since I had satellite taken off. So if all of that was in commercials, it is new to me. We all have heard problems with it, but I haven't heard about them to this extent before.

I'm not sure what is supposed to be new about this as they have been running those very side effects warnings in the TV commercials for Chantix for months already.

Yea, I can't fathom how the FDA allows a drug, Chantix, with suicide as a side effect to be sold at all! Just blows my mind! Then they have the nerve to threaten vapers with draconian regulations, when there are no known cases of disease or deaths from vaping and thousands of deaths from smoking related diseases. Totally Insane!

Chantix is the wonder drug for Tobacco Control fundamentalist parasites. When someone offs him/herself because of it they can double count it both as a successful quit and as a smoking-related death. Cha-ching: more NIH funding to peddle antismoker hatespeech

It would be incredibly sad if they (anyone) counts a Chantix-related death and smoking-related. And yet, I'm around 95% not surprised if this is being done.
