I wish I would of read this last night! Your Vet should of induced vomiting immediately, of at the least had you make the dog drink hydrogen peroxide at home to make him vomit.
Yeah, the snake in the picture is the snake I'm getting. Ball Pythons only grow to an average of 4.5-5 feet long.
