I'll just pretend I'm having some....thank you :) Daughter has some nice blueberry bushes here...but the birds and the kids get to them before they ever get brought in  They've planted concord grapes that are growing in the back and will probably reach the deck...which is on a second story level... this year, but I don't think they're mature enough to produce much of a crop yet.

Been living in this house for about 25 years and we have 2 nice sized cherry trees in the back yard (guessing around 50'-60' for the oldest one) and in all that time we have never gotten any fruit off the trees. The trees produce tons of cherries but between the squirrels and the birds we get nothing. I've see 2 ripe cherries on the tree from the kitchen window and 10 min later when I go try and pick them they are already gone, not even a stem left. And I really really like cherries, but sometimes even in the city natures creatures clam the prizes first. :(

That's the truth for sure. We're in a city, but just a few blocks from a river, so.....the pretty yiddle guys with the white stripes wander up here frequently in the summer. I always have to take a flashlight with me when I take the dog out at night  there's been several times we've had to turn and head back in a hurry

I actually like all the little critters, skunks included, and I know that spraying is simply their defense system.....but my silly little dog would think it was a cat to chase and we know what the result would be :laugh: there has been a few times that daughter and son-in-law have gotten one of those traps that just lures them into a cage....and then transported them out into the country. There are a couple of people here that put out bowls of food for stray cats and most think that's part of the attraction for the little skunks.

lucky you...love black walnuts...but nasty to harvest with the stains you get from them

They are a mess, a few years back my girlfriend at the time collected five big burlap bags full and hid them from the squirrels under the back deck well this one squirl found them and he would bring them up on the deck right outside the kitchen window and eat them just to tease her I think.

I'm not sure if it's true or not but I've been told they are a member of the cat family
