Speakin' of virtual typing.... anyone have a work around for tablet keyboarding with girly fingernails? This touchy type is so frustrating it has convinced me to never get Win8.

Get the right kind of stylus and it's a lot easier to type with. Had to get one of the soft tip types for my nook cause my fat fingers just couldn't hit some of the smaller spots needed to make selections. Works great.

My nails are always really long too and trying to play DrawSomething on a tablet is a pain! Even just typing on my keyboard I hit a lot of incorrect letters. I use a stylus (sp?) alot when I use my tablet, I found a mini one thats only maybe 2 inches long and has a end you can clip into where your headphone would normally go to keep in attached when you are not using it.

I'm gonna have to look harder for a soft tipped 'cause the one I have doesn't connect half the time. Thanks, V, I'll keep shoppin'.

To just say "tablet" leaves a wide expanse of different types, brands, makes and models. There will be no one answer that will work for all of them but there usually is an answer for a particular one ( make/model ).

So to answer this can only be done generically at this point without the specifics mentioned and then you'd need to find the one that would be compatible with the make/model you own. Many of these have bluetooth capabilities and there are a lot of different bluetooth enabled KB's out there... finding a compatible one as I mentioned, would be the next step. Of the tablets I've seen, all also had USB ports... these are a lot more universal but you'd still need to know that the one you picked works on the make/model you have... The iPads are particularly picky about what brands they will work with as an example but many of the Windows or Android brand will work with many of them out there including the 2.4Ghz wireless ones. The same applies to mice, if you are interested.

rd, it's a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1" (android) running JellyBean 4.1.1, with bluetooth and I have the OTG adapter with USB. I could put a keyboard folio and mouse on it but sometimes that defeats the purpose of portability.

This info spark any suggestions?

Yeah... not what you'll want to hear though. You either have to get used to using one of the many touch keyboards that are available to you... or use an add-on keyboard which is an additional device to carry as you pointed out. There are a lot of touch keyboard add-ons in the Play Store... but they all work in the same manner, just some have different layouts or themes etc... but they still work in the same manner.
