Thanks Keela, she was a total sweetheart, not a mean bone in her body. Here's a pic of her:

What a beauty!

Yea, they have gotten such a bad rap. I have yet to meet a mean rottie. A dear friend of the family has rotties (won't have any other breed :D) and in all the one's he's had, not a single one was ill tempered. I don't buy into the whole thought of them being mean by nature....it's a learned quality with these babes.

Thank You! I think she was pretty cute too but of course I'm biased. :)

Absolutely, totally agree with you! Much like you I've yet to meet a mean one. They are protective but most dogs are to some extent. I think the environment they are in has more to do with their disposition than the breed frankly. I've seen poodles that were mean as snakes ( which really aren't mean of course ... ) but it was clearly the result of how they were raised rather than some ingrained hereditary trait.

I love that pic!!! I lost my Rottie a few months back ...

Can't "like" this one, Haze but I can totally emphasize with you. My best buddy and protector, Tucker (rottie), disappeared about a year ago. I suspect those danged coyotes. There's hardly a day goes by that I don't still look down expecting to find him within inches of my leg. They're one of the most loyal breed I've ever befriended.

We'll pray to the Rainbow Bridge together and hope they shine in doggie heaven.

Dang CJ, I'm so sorry to hear that. :(

I know what you mean ... I still do the same thing too; swear I just saw her out of the corner of my eye. It was pretty rough there for a while. I lost my pit/lab mix (in my avy) less than 6 months before I had to let my Rottie go (cancer). I honestly don't know which is worse, knowing or not knowing ... not having them around is bad enough!

It was kinda funny, I couldn't even go to the bathroom without having one or the other or both, sitting outside the door waiting for me; combined they never let me out of their sight if they could help it. I think they sometimes worked out an arrangement ... 'Okay today I'll watch over him from 8 til 5 and you take the night shift; tomorrow we'll swap, deal?' :)

Yes indeed and I fully expect to see them again when it's my time! After all, it's said that everything you need to be happy will be there in Heaven ... hopefully I make it there before the devil knows I'm dead! :D
