Next I'm going to try the EKOWOOL with the cotton center, one thing is for sure by the time I'm done I'll have enough wick around here too last a lifetime
there has been a lot of chatter about the cotton roll from....pooh...don't remember which drugstore. Pull, roll, stuff....no cleaning required since it's already sterile
I am a dry burner, so I can't use any of these alternatives.....and just hate the thought of having to toss perfectly good wicking material just cause my coil gets gunked up

not really. I use dentek brushes after a burn to remove the burnt up gunk and anything that may loosen with the burn, but it holds on tight without a dry burn....Kinda like sugary substances that overflow in the oven and get baked in....just gotta bake them to a powder
Are you having to Tilt more to get that flow? It's probably working more like a Straw that Capillary Action. Then again, you have a Bottom Coil, so that's probably why it works so well for you.
Just as with anything vaping related.....everyone has their own opinions on what works best. So many swear by cotton and eko and anything but silica
I understand this. I've tried many of them, including cotton in several forms, bamboo and hemp twine, and I've tried XS-116 and XS-18, which is very similar EcoWool in construction. The XS-116 is 1/16 inch, and XS-18 is 1/8. I bought it to put over a SS Mesh Wick, to prevent Shorts to the Coil. The XS-116 was too small for that, and it didn't work well at all for Capillary Action in an AGA-T2 as just a Wick. The XS-18 works very well over a 3/32 inch SS Mesh Wick as an Insulator.
I roll the Wick as always, to 3/32 Inch (I use a "Solid Wick") and insert it into the AGA-T2. I take the XS-18 and squish it down to widen the hole. It slips right over the Mesh Wick without catching. There's a little bit that's Featured around the Deck Hole where the Wick comes through. I pull the XS-18 tight from above to make it tighter around the Wick, and I cut it higher than the Wick. I wrap my Coil around the XS-18 and terminate it to the Plus Post in a 3/4 wrap, and then I use the extra to wrap around the XS-18 over the Wick, to close that center hole. The Feathering at the bottom, and the closure at the Top helps to reduce Spitting greatly.
There's also an XS-316 now.
To date, a Glass Carto Tank was my absolute best Vape experience, but the Glass broke when my cat knocked it off the table. Also, the Cartomizers leak through the 510 (+) Pin, and Carto Tanks can be a PITA, so I bought the AGA-T2, and it's worked out nicely since I found the XS-18. As always, to each his/her own, but this is working nicely now.
I think that Filling the EcoWool with Cotton would likely be Great!!! It should be well protected from Burning because it's surrounded by the EcoWool.

One site says to do just that (Burn it - Torch it) before you use it, to Clean it.
It comes in lots of forms if you look around so far I've found it hollow,with a natural cotton core and also with a silica core I have some of the silica core but it was too small for the protank so I'm going to try it in my bully and squid
