These are "posts" not emails.... you are on a forum

Why is that important... if you ever have technical trouble and you use the wrong wording, your problem may not be fixed if the tech is looking for the wrong problem... not to mention others won't know what you are talking about.

You are so very right. There is one friend of hubbys that calls and says "My internet is not working". He calls his computer his internet. Hubby cringes each time he calls now because this guy simply refuses to try to learn ANYTHING about his computer.

And the worst part is when they ask you to come fix their computer and are oblivious as to anything computer related.

I used to be quite good with computers, even did tech support for the ISP I worked for, before the age of tech support reading from a script. Back then we had to really figure out what was wrong and fix it. Because of this I am often asked for help by friends and family, or I used to be, I finally just started refusing to help anyone who refused to learn anything including and especially proper terminology.
While it isn't impossible to help anyone not speaking the same language it is extremely difficult. Went through this last year when my SO's cousin moved close by and I tried to help her get things set up, she told me she wanted everything exactly the same as it was in her old home with her old ISP and she didn't have any intention of learning anything new. She calls her computer Comcast and we only have Charter sooooooooooo when she said that I turned to her and said then you will have to call them and get them to help you.

and expect it fixed for nuttin!!

This guy usually sends hubby home with a bottle of home made wine that always ends up poured down the drain. He considers himself a wine maker but then I think he would drink swamp water if it had alcohol in it. Gotta get those empty wine bottles back to him. :D

16649.jpg LOL with , redirect some of that genius my way.

Finally got a multimeter (even read the manual) and can now check batteries,
but don't know where to touch the leads(? probes) on my atties.

Can you help me, please darlin'? I know there's a special "touch" spot, but need your guidance....

I was in the same boat CJ. Finally had hubby show me. I set the meter on 200+/- on the ohms scale. Then I put one probe on the little round piece on the bottom (in the hole if there is one) of the atty and the other one on the threads.

You're welcome CJ. I thought about buying one of those neat little ohm checkers. Mentioned it to hubby. He handed me one of his meters and showed me how to use it. Now I'm all set and saved the cash for other vaping stuff. :D

Reset

(Game started 10/21 @ 10:00 AM EDT)

As of Saturday 10/26 @ 1:10 PM EDT
Coulda had ANOTHER V8 .... er V6!!! :D-- Round #25
Pick 5 number from 1601 - 2000
Check the board for available numbers:
Link to Gotvapes Game Board!

Colored cells are taken.
Winning number(s) are chosen via Random.org at game end.

The Prize:
V6 Auto kit and a Bottle of Flux Nectar!

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

A 'liked' post does not mean you've got that number (or that you yourself are even liked). The first person to pick a number gets that number whether it's marked on the board or not. When we 'Like' your picks that means one of the five helpers are marking them on the board. If there are any mistakes/conflicts, we will reply to your post. So check back a while after you pick to see if we noted any problems.

Please do not edit your pick posts.
If someone already took your number, please wait for a helper to post the error. Please "Reply With Quote" to the helper's post with your new pick.

A helper will announce a new round of picks at random times, so check back often and keep track of what round you've already made picks in.

Rounds may last anywhere from 16 seconds to 36 hours based solely on our whim. There are no rules. Life is unfair. Good luck!

We call it a "reset" when we go into a new round. You still keep all of your previous picks. If you miss a round you do not get to back and make up picks. You can only make picks for the current round.

The game ends when the sheet is filled. We then announce the winning pick.

Play to win! There will be no PIFing of number picks. The winner of any contest can PIF the prize if they choose to do so Here.

Theses aren't rules. They are guidance. And they may change at any time. Without prior notice. Maybe even without ensuing notice.
