I got some unbleached cotton but I think I'm going to stick with silica. I tend to go feast or famine, aka flood or dry, and dry cotton wicks are not safe.

TomCatt did a wiki on cotton wicks. He hasn't updated it in ages but it has good info on how to boil out the sizing.

And you don't need to worry about hot spots because its 1 big hot spot, lol

I have looked at the Phoenix bottom coil clearos and the coil wraps seem to touch each other but work well. I have had some last 4 months with frequent cleaning and also dryburning about every 10 days. That is at least 500 ml of liquid vaporized before the coil burned out.

I made my first dual micro coil today for my smoktech rda.
View attachment 271463

I used 32g kanthal and tried to stay above 1.5 ohms for my mvp, came out to 1.8 ohms, I had to drill a air hole in the cap because the stock one comes from under the coil and I wanted both coils to get air.

I used peaches and cream yarn for the wick, the coils got a little screwed up getting the wick in but not to bad.

I plugged the stock air hole with a toothpick and broke it off so I could get more juice in it with out so much leaking.

I should have started small with the hole and worked up, instead I started with a 3/32 hole and I bet 1/16 would have been better for me, bit I guess I will have to live with it for now.

But all in all it hits really good, LOTS of vapor, and the flavor is really good.

Nice coil. Looks like a ton of surface area for good vapor production. Did you wrap the wire around your wick, or did you make the coil first and pull the wick through last? - (I do the latter method)

Mine aren't great talkers. Poeia says "Hello, I love YOU" and a few other phrases like "no ow" but her diction has gotten worse as she got older (she's 21.) Annabella says "Hello" and has never shown any interest in learning another word but she loves Morse code -- she knocks on things or clicks her beak and I am to respond. They definitely understand a few words -- their names, kiss, bath, step up (for Annabella), up NOW (Poeia) and Ow. If I'm home and awake, they are out. Their cages have flat tops so they hang out there (or on me.) They do not hang out together. Annabella wants physical interaction and Poeia screams as if she's been bitten… *sigh*

My parents once visited people who had a parrot that imitated the electric can opener. Every time he did, the cat would run into the kitchen. When they got home they asked me if the bird knew what it was doing. (The answer is, of course not. The first time it happened, people laughed and made a fuss. That's the positive reinforcement that set the behavior. Plus it's probably a fun sound to make.)

My friends birds sit up there and sing a little song that goes I Don't want her you can have shes to fat for me and they both bob up and down while they do it, it's hilarious to watch they also do jingle bells she teaches them songs with a tape recorder set on loop and said it doesn't take long if they like the song one of them does over 200 words.

That's what I have been doing also. Coil first then pull the wick through
