it registers between 1.5-3.5 ohms but eventually my vamo says "low"....and i do pulse and see if the coil is turning red and its just the top coil or 2 and the 1 going form the top of mesh wick to the center post
When first putting a coil on and checking it for hot spots you need to turn the wattage down low. When a hot spot occurs the power is being concentrated at that spot and will heat the wire until failure.
after wrapping a coil check the ohms first. then install on your vamo with voltage setting on 3.0. pulse the fire button for 2 seconds at a time looking for even heating. if you see a hot spot poke directly at the hot spot with a tooth pick or another object but be gentle. poking should help to get past the hot spot and help the voltage to spread across the rest of the coil.
Slowly bring up the voltage a tenth or two at a time. watching for the coil to evenly heat.
Once you are happy with the glow of your coil fill the tank, saturate the wick and coil and vape on.
Now what I have listed is after wrapping the coil, oxidizing the wick and so forth. If you need assistance with those please post back. Also you might want to look on youtube as there are many step by step guides that are very good.
and the other part of the question...what voltage do you have it set at?
it registers between 1.5-3.5 ohms but eventually my vamo says "low"....and i do pulse and see if the coil is turning red and its just the top coil or 2 and the 1 going form the top of mesh wick to the center post
the 1 and only time i have gotten the coil to heat evenly was when I DIDN"T have a mesh wich inside of the coil lmao! then i inserted the coil and started pulsing it and their were 5 wraps and the top 2 and the wire going to the center post were the only ones glowing...so i said hmmm.......so i picked at it a little, then pulsed and "poof" or pop, same damn spot, between center post and my wick!
and i also know this isnt supposed to be talkin like this on this forum so ill pm him, i apologize mods. thank you for your grace and mercy!
i know and thats my fault...an aga t2....i just want to either use a 400 ss mesh wick with 30-32 kanthal wire or use glassfibre(at least thats what it says on the bag, silica im guessing), and make the damn thing work!!!! i got like all this juice comin in and want to use some of it on the aga with my vamo, then when my kst telescopic storm and provari mini w/18500 extender get here its on...but what the damn aga to work! i can get it to until i instert the wick and then i sometimes can with it but it usually pops at the top between center post and the top coil of the wick....you know the one thats connected to center post.....forgive me forbeing short with you....aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well said.I absolutely agree. Biggest problem is the New Members area and the General section here......they have gotten to the point of pushing HARD all the advanced gear on new vapers. They don't seem to understand that just cause it works for them NOW ( a year or so later) that it is gonna be the bees knees for a newbie. All it does is leads to frustration....and I've seen so many newbies give up and go back to the stinkies cause of the frustration factor. Makes me quite angry at times!
Did you watch the vid I posted for you?

Start at lowest setting in power and work your way up wile you ready your wick. Need to take it in steps or you will pop the wire very time. looking for an even glow you do not need to time out the mods fireing. Let the wire cool down from time to time...
Honestly RBA's/RDA's are a fun tinker toys for me. The stardust you replace the heads on and the raven carto tank set up are my every day units.
It don't sound like you're having fun... You may want to wait for them stardust to arrive, and try a raven if you like the octo dripper's taste..
