TY {{{Prism}}}....that was so long ago...I wasn't even sure I still had a pic and it's not a very good one. You can't see the sooty smudges on both figures or the clear face shield that is raised on the helmet....lots of little details not visible.

Looks like two sets . ??? In the pic, only one set is put together. They connect using hole and pegs.
They were from my mom, who passed a 2 yrs ago.

Looks like display racks or stand to me......such as for a plate or framed picture.
Edit: Well after Laura's post about the wear pattern leading to a second looksie....now I'm not so sure

Those may be the base legs for a vintage 1950's or 60's glass top coffee table. ( end tables??) If you look for atomic era glass top coffee table you might find a match. This is my best guess. But that is the style of furniture I like to look for and have seen style shaped bases (legs) with a glass top
or mid century modern. I hope this helps

Older Plate Stands had 3 pieces. Judging by the dollar bill there, they aren't very big
