Some vapers have become very entitled expecting every whim to be catered for and for no cost and on mods made and sold before some things became the "next great thing" and now evolv have released the dna200 that also seems to have prompted this recent backlash against yihi. To be honest I'm spending less and less time on vaping forums because there seems to be a lot of pointlessness these days and if you don't join one of the in groups be that yihi, evolv or some wire fan group you don't know anything and your damned if you do and damned if you don't.
It's called "opinions." People have had opinions since the beginning of time.

No criticising a company because they don't issue updates when some people start using new wires or when they feel they should have an update isn't opinion, criticising a company because they release a refined version of a mod is not opinion. The m class works and works very well for the vast majority of it's user's and there are some of us that have taken time to build up the funds to buy an sx mini getting a refined version works.

Right behind you...
I've said this before, but it's worth repeating. Why don't ya'll just give it a bit of time and see what Yihi ACTUALLY does in the future regarding upgrades, rather than being all doom and gloom and cursing them for something that hasn't happened yet?

Doesn't cost you anything to wait and see, and it'll be better for your blood pressure. :)

I will criticize any company that releases a top-shelf product, controls the selling price of that product, then dumps the buyers of that product into the crapper in a few short months. Not even the decency to release a final version of their firmware.
If you have $100 bills to burn and want to start your own 'Island of Misfit Toys', that's up to you. For me and many others, I refuse to reward bad behavior.
I had zero experience with YiHI and wish it were still that way.
From here, I'll buy $50 mods as except for the temporary "Look what I have", I no longer see value in the expensive ones. Upgradable! To what and for how long?

See how easy it is to lose customers?

Clearly I've missed the announcement by yihi they are ceasing support so link me to it and when I've read it I'll come back and apologise. If the m class has been bought in the last couple of months then not much research was done prior to purchase and at least equal blame goes to the customer. As I said this mod while not cheap is very far from being at the top end of expensive mods and for the money it costs it does what it is meant too and most people when they see "firmware upgradeable" take comfort that any bugs can be resolved meaning they will end up with a device that does what it's supposed too as the m class does. Forums are great places at times the only trouble with them is sometimes the members on them think they are the only thing a company should take notice of forgetting that forum user's are still a very small representation of a total user base and the vast majority of customer's are happy with their purchases and don't go onto forums.

I can understand why yihi need a new product with more memory inside to support their take on escribe and the new sxi software to compete with evolve. But I am hopeful we get updates on the 350j v1 boards.

If they support releases for a year after they come out then I would be happy.

I personally think we should all write to yihi asking for this.

If it doesn't happen then I would be less likely to buy yihi vs evolve in the future as a big selling factor for their top end products to me is their supposed future proofing from the ability to upgrade.

I wonder, did the provari fanboys go all crybaby when provape introduced newer models?
Did they cry and whine and swear they'd never give provape another dime?
How dare they even think of letting down all the loyal vv users by getting into vw...arrgh those bastages

You don't even know if there will be another firmware update released or not.

Those manufacturers producing the $50 mods are also bringing out new versions mere months after the initial versions are released. Is that okay because they're cheaper?

It's certainly cheaper if they're cheaper!
I thought the SXmini was pretty decent in it's current form, is it that much of a disaster if there are no more firmware upgrades?

Wait and see? How long is reasonable? LOL. I've said it before, but it's worth repeating. I've waited to see for 9 months now a PROMISED FEATURE of an upgrade to my S class. Even to just the 75W. Um...... nothing. Unit was only sold by yihi for ONE MONTH. Not a single update since its discontinuation.

Released a buggy "test" firmware in June. Don't even have the decency of finalizing it and fixing the bugs. in 90 days so far?

You don't even know if there will be another firmware update released or not.

Yes we do. Yihi has discontinued the v1 and stopped support. No more chips and no more updates. This is straight from yihi. And also confirmed by every single person who has asked them. You don't want to believe the 5+ members who have confirmed the same, then shoot them an email.

Not much research? We all don't have crystal balls to know yihi will be sneaking in two new devices/chips in the next 3 months. They don't give any warning. They wait until their inventory is just about depleted and then announce their next model. I guess Vapor Flask also must not have done their research either then buying thousands of chips that are discontinued before they even ship a single unit.

The entire point here is yes.... we are buying a unit for what is is advertised to do AT the moment we purchase it. But then REMOVE the "upgradability" from the products features. Thats false advertising and many people buy this unit based on that promise/feature. If they were a US company they'd be sued big time for this. Then users can decide if they want to spend their $200 on a unit that will be a "current" unit for between 1-5 months.

It's only false advertising if you make a promise to upgrade, and don't. Advertising that something is "upgradeable" as a selling point is completely legal even if the product in question never sees a sneeze of an update. Legalese is ALL semantics, my friend.

No its not, that angers me as well.
Between that and this I'm highly considering ditching all my vape gear in favor of returning to Marlboro. They are still the same as they were 100 years ago and served me fine for 20years. As expensive as juice and the maintenance cost of vaping is getting I'm spending more anyway.
And you never see a smoker arguing over who makes better cigs, a misspelled word or improper use of a comma. I've generally had it with all of it.
The only stopping me right now is I can't sell a bunch of my year old stuff because its already antiquated.... and payday isn't for another week
Oh wait, I must be a bad person so I apologize for having an opinion or feelings of being used like a one night stand.

Re-Read your history of Cigs, my friend. Marlboro is NOT the brand it was when launched. The Tobacco Lawsuits of the 90's are proof of that. They got caught doping cigs with extra nicotine.

No amount of misbehavior by a tech company is going to make me go back to that kind of self-torture. If I don't like what a mod brand is doing, I just won't buy the mod. It's the classic consumer beating stick. Keep your money in your pocket and they'll either get the idea and change practices or go bankrupt. End of story.

When did the snippy 'I'm so smarter than you' attitude become part of vapors? Really?????
"reread your cig .history?' is that necessary ???? Ok you're smarter I applaud thee!!!
Talk to me about that after you drop 400$ on mods that are 'upgradeable ' a week before the company announces an 'updated' version of the mod without an upgrade to the ones you just bought
Wow thank you for making sure I feel extra stupid for not knowing Marlboro trivia. grrrrrr another reason I would rather smoke .
My feelings being dismissed or vapors telling me how to feel is yet another reason I would rather smoke!!!!
Dont need those either

Have to get to a gas station now!!!!!!!! Vapors driving me to smoke,

LOL, if you return to cigs, it won't be because of me. You seem pretty intent on quitting vaping as it is, just be honest with yourself and stop looking for an excuse, because the rest of it is frighteningly simple: If you don't like the offerings and support (or lack thereof) of the product that a given company provides... don't buy from them again. Dwindling sales is the ONE thing a corporation pays attention to above all else. There's a reason for the saying "Once bitten, twice shy."

I really hope they bring out more updates for the M class for SS wire etc. Time will tell. I have three SX350J mods and love them all. I would be really excited at the ML class and the dual 18650 coming out at Christmas if my older mods still had support. If yihi drops me I will still love the three mods I have but I will drop them and future purchases will be evolve or other, simple. I will write to Yihi with my concerns, I feel if enough people do the same they might give in.

ps. I don't know the history of Benson and hedges or any other apart from the promise of enjoyment wrapped up in something that did me harm on a daily basis. The future of tobacco is what concerns me and I hope it's a short lived one.

pps I hope they keep the same board form factor, then two of my mods will be upgradable to the new chip if I choose.
