Hey guys, ex-smoker for 10 years. Switched to ecigs recently and this forum has been a boon of information for me! Now I created an account because I have a serious health concern with these, but let's not get too serious too fast now eh? (yes, I am Canadian! Love the Canada subforum). I recently discussed ecigs on reddit, and quoted ECF for many points and rebuttals... I might as well be a part of the family. I'm already fully vested into this endeavor, and I'm looking forward to getting it right.

Currently, I'm using an Apollo Extreme (actually really good! However having a battery issue with one *thank god there is two!*) and my ADV is either RY4 + a hint of razzle or Red Bull is always a pleaser. I still have many flavours to try!! I have an abundance of juice, could probably puff until mid-summer lol.

I'd love to discuss my issues, but for now - thanks for having me and providing me with so much information.

Your new pal,
Turns

It's been great so far. With the small ups and downs (latest maybe not so small...) it truly beats smoking, 10-fold. I'm rocking high energy and I KNOW I smell better. Up here in Canada they are rare and unknown, so it acts as an icebreaker in the bars, girls comin up to me and I don't have ashtray mouth. WINNING! :)

Good one Turns! Welcome to the forum!

Maybe I should stop stealth-vaping in bars and start making it more obvious... :D

Happy vaping! :vapor:

Welcome aboard to a fellow Vancouverite! You'll have to let me know where you're vaping "out loud". I only have one place that I'm confident about doing it at. Also a little curious about what your health concern is. As in..does that mean you're not certain of the risks associated with vaping, or you believe you have a health issue attributed to vaping?

I won't vape indoor publicly yet. I think it's unnecessary and tbh might make people frown upon vaping, and I like to give off a good first impression always :) I vape in the smoke areas in bars, when they see the cherry light up blue on my Apollo Extreme, it's instant curiosity!

My Health concern relates to confusion about type sensitivity, or perhaps I am just releasing toxins.. but on my upper chest area I've broken out in hives? It's in the exact spots where the lungs divide into their respective sides in a "V" shape. I was smoking a 60pg/40vg mix from Apollo, but just recently (YESTERDAY!) I ordered from Jugheads in Alberta, and it arrived within 24hrs... with free flavors to boot. Those guys are unbelievable! ANYWAYS - I got 100% flavors with the hope of it being a sensitivity to PG... Now the kicker is, that when I tried it (while signing up for this :)), I was coughing and had an asthma kick (hadn't needed the inhaler for a week beforehand with the pg/vg mix)... I puffed my inhaler, and i'm all good. Went back to it and I seem to be totally fine again.

I really don't know what to do, so I'm going to aggressively puff the VG liquids, and see the results (the hives is going to be the real test of sensitivity.) If I have to switch to 100%PG I will, but I'm still afraid of it getting worse. (Side note: I never get pimples or anything, so it's very concerning to me. I can provide pictures if it comes to it)

And thanks to everyone else for the warm welcomes :)

I'll be following this thread closely. Very interested in what's going on with you Turns.

Thank you, I appreciate your concern!

I'm hoping someone has had similar experiences... I did a pretty thorough search, and have heard of rashes/hives (mine does not itch) as a reaction... Mostly to PG Juices - But the fact that mine is literally in a "V" where my lungs split makes it apparent that it's an internal reaction and not external. Coughing on the VG made me think I went the wrong way, but I've been powering through it after the initial tightening of the chest and now I feel just fine. The VG also doesn't hurt my throat (I understand why PG does however, the science behind it is fascinating!). We'll see in the coming days whether the hives disappear due to the switch. I love love Jugheads flavours I just got so far, almost worth dealing with the dots to continue my enjoyment.
